Professional Experience

● German QA Tester and Linguist for Nuance Communications, a key developer

for speech recognition software. Functional and linguistic testing of Nuance’s

voice recognition programs, Dragon Dictate for Mac versions 3 through 5 and

Dragon Express and the new Dragon Dictate App, closely following test scripts

and taking screenshots, reporting bugs into and verifying bugs from bug reporting

system (Jira).

● German linguistic and functional QA tester for Guidewire, a leading software

publisher for property and casualty insurance carriers. On-site functional and

linguistic testing of the company’s software applications for developers and

insurance agents, gaining expertise in a highly specialized industry. Assuring

quality and consistency of the terminology database, updating language database,

following complex test scripts and creating bug reports with screenshots.

● German Linguistic and Functional QA Tester for Netflix, the leading streaming

video and movie provider. Responsible for testing all functionality for the

German-speaking market plus linguistic QA. Major player in the companies’

launch in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg in September 2014.

Closely followed the provided test scripts for all Netflix-compatible TV platforms,

providing screenshots of issues and reporting them in Netflix’ own bug tracking

system.

● German Linguistic and Functional QA Tester for Moravia, a leading translation

agency, working on products for Apple Inc. in one of the company’s testing labs.

● German Localization Expert for Jawbone, a developer for Bluetooth devices and

iPhone applications. Responsible for complete German localization process of

both documentation and software of the UP! wristband.

● German Product Specialist for Ask.com, a popular search engine.

Played a major role in establishing the company’s Internet presence in

Germany. Was responsible for all elements and application content of the German

site. Improved and designed the localized site, including quality testing of Web

products and applications. Made contributions to Marketing and PR efforts and

kept abreast the search industry landscape in Germany.

● German Linguist for LinkedIn, a worldwide professional network service.

Providing online translation using state-of-the-art translation tools (Idiom

WorldServer) of all features and pages for LinkedIn’s German site. Maintaining

and updating online TM. Ongoing contracting position.

● Was German Linguist for PayPal, doing extensive linguistic reviews, updates and

testing of their new or improved on-line banking services for the German market.

Maintaining their extensive translation database and glossary, using state-of-the-

art translation memory tools (Idiom), as well as filing and fixing of bugs.

● Was German Quality Tester for Yahoo! Inc. Did linguistic and functional

testing of Yahoo! Mail service, using Bugzilla bug logging system and

Yahoo!’s own specific translation database.
