re: PONY CLUB CAMP 2015 - CHEPSTOW RACECOURSE

Camp this year commences at Chepstow Racecourse on Sunday 9th August. It is essential that you arrive at the Racecourse between 5.00 p.m. and 6.00 p.m. (please do not arrive before this time). Camp will finish on the evening of Friday 14th August, after everything has been cleared away, the jockey quarters tidied, and we have had the presentation of awards.

This year all members will be sleeping in the stables. We will use the jockey quarters for meals, showers and a general meeting place. We think this is a good idea because the whole stable yard is lockable and totally secure. This means that all members will need a camp bed, duvet, pillow etc. Please remember that it can get very cold at night! Also you may want to bring a mat or rug for your bit of floor, and something to keep your clothes in. Usually a proper camp bed is better than a blow up bed as they always seem to collapse in the night.

The cost of Camp is £320.Any balance of payment must be paid on or by the date of the camp meeting or you will forfeit your place. All parents/members who helped at our triathlon last November have a £10 reduction in camp fees. Please see below!

This year there is also a reduction of £40 per child for families who help for the full day at our Area One Day Event on 19th July, plus giving some time to set up before.

If for any reason you find your child is unable to attend Camp, please contact Vicky (01594 529678) or Hannah (07831584823)) as soon as possible - refunds will only be made if we still have a waiting list of other members wishing to join Camp. At present there is no Wait List.

A meeting has been arranged for all members attending Camp, and their parents, to be held at the Huntsman Inn, Shirenewton (NP16 6BU), onMonday 15th June, commencing at 6.30 p.m.It is compulsory that ALL PARENTS ATTEND. Supper is available for all at a cost of £4 per head. If you would like to eat please pay upon entry, at 6.30. At this meeting we can discuss final arrangements, and any questions can be asked. We will also draw up a rota of HELPERS for each day. ALL PARENTS WILL NEED TO COMMIT TO AT LEAST 2 SESSIONS PER CHILD. Please could you plan ahead when you may be able to help, so that you can let us know at the meeting.

Please also bring your pony’s vaccination certificate to the meeting. This can then be checked, which saves time on arrival at camp.

There will also be a second-hand clothes stall at the meeting so please bring along all unwanted items. This is a good opportunity to get some extra things for camp.

Please note however that it is essential that you remember to bring your Pony's vaccination certificate with you to camp, where it will be kept for the duration of camp. This is a stipulation of the Racecourse, and you will not be able to enter the stables without handing it to a camp official.

There are 3 forms which must be completed and returned with your payment to Vicky by 12th June. These may be printed off the Curre PC website. (Camp). I have also sent them as attachments to this letter.

In addition you will find on the website a list of Yard Rules, General Camp Rules and Items Required for Camp. These are for your information.

If your child uses an inhaler, please make sure it is full and labeled.

Some paper bedding will be provided - you can take your own shavings but not straw. If you require extra bedding, you can order and pay for this at the Camp meeting.
