Opening Prayer: Our Father
Approval of Minutes: Andrea & Anne Marie approved minutes from the last council meeting on December 7th, 2017
Principal’s Update:
· Mr. Flynn retired. New Principal Mrs. N. Vaitonis will take over for 6 weeks (she opened CtK 15 years ago). Mr. Ianetta will take over as Principal for the last 6 weeks of semester 2.
· VP attending meeting Laura Agro-DeRosa
· What we need from principal is update and info of what is happening at the school
· Info sharing, school to parents
· Claudine – proposal as council to write letter to Trustee and Superintendent to complain about the unprofessional way principal change occurred.
· Would have preferred a new long term principal to start in second semester so they can get to know the school
· In the past had chaplain attended the council meet and student council rep to update. Council members would like them to come
· Successful exam period
· Food 4 Thought is expanding and special education will involved. They are taking food handling course.
· Report cards go out Feb 10th
· February is black history month – will have speaker(s) and steel band drummers
· School mass – Feb15
· Girls night in – Feb 9
· Boys night in – Feb 16
· Grade 10 parent info night – Feb 23
· ISW uniforms the new provider has a store in Milton. Annual uniform sale Feb 4 -Feb 18
· Staff will crack down on uniforms as not being worn properly – uniform blitz
· Every 3 months the school posts on the website – school generated funds
· Issue between board and schools. The board says that the $65 activity fee is optional. Schools don’t know what to anticipate. This will impact student life. The activity fee goes towards speaker, agendas, retreat, year book etc.

Used Uniform Sale:
· Sold out of white shirts
· No shorts
· Some pants and sweaters
· Need new stock
· VP – Ellison assisting Janet Leys (council member)
· Idea is to have drop off box outside student council office and council members to pick up every Friday
· Will not interfere with secretaries and office
· Have plastic bin, just need label
· Biggest donations will be at the end of the year from grade 12’s
· Now want to collect smaller sizes and items in better shape
· Email will be sent out to let parents know used uniforms will be collected throughout the year
Parish Update:
· Parish youth group to be linked to school website
School Website
· Mr. Ballan in charge of school website
· Council minutes should be posted on school website
· List of council members not updated on school website
PRO Grant:
· Stands for Parent’s Reaching Out
· Grant $ is going to Grade 10 parent info night on Feb 23
· Goal is to inform families/parents and help kids pick courses for grade 11 in March. Get students/parents thinking what is their goal/direction eg. Trade vs college vs university
· Anne Marie met with Mrs. Waters
· Auditorium will have speakers and atrium will have tables with info

· Flyer to go out with option sheet for grade 10’s – Janet
· Mrs. Agro-DeRosa informed council members that each course (grade 9 to 12) is required to lave a link between course and pathway eg. Teacher has speaker come in or talk about how relates to jobs. Also, told us about 2 events open to anyone – women as career coaches and men as career coaches – usually in Burlington. Tables of 10 – 5 adults and 5 students. Guest speakers.
CPIC Update: Renata did not attend meeting and she is the CPIC rep. No update.
