CTC Annual Conference 2017
PowerPoint Requirements & Guidelines
Central Texas Conference Service Center team members who are giving a report during Annual Conference 2017 and wish to employ PowerPoint in that presentation should use the official 2017 PowerPoint template. You can download the official template at ctcumc.org/ac17-multimedia, or request it from the Communications & IT team. Requirements, Guidelines and Tips for working with the 2017 template are on pages 3 and 4 of this packet.
If you are not a member of the CTCSC team, you are not required to use the official template. However you are most welcome and encouraged to do so. You may also access the official template atctcumc.org/ac17-multimedia, or request it from the Communications & IT team.
If you choose to not use the official template please note the following requirements and guidelines when building your presentation. Especially if you plan on using an existing presentation from other events that is in the square 4:3 scale format.
- The screens and projection system at the First Methodist Mansfield are set up to use the 16:9 wide-screen format. As such, all PowerPoint presentations should be built using a 16:9 wide-screen format.
- If you have an existing presentation that is in the 4:3 format, please convert it to 16:9 if at all possible. If you need assistance with this conversion, email or .
- Please include a title slide with your presentation.
- Please use larger fonts to ensure that everyone in the room can read your text. 24 point is the recommended minimum size.
- Ensure that you have obtained all the appropriate permissions and rights for any images, logos and other multi-media content incorporated in your presentation.
- Make sure your font contrasts well against your background. Since the lights on the stage and in the room can wash out your slide a bit, it is important that you do not use light fonts on light backgrounds or dark on dark.
- Please submit your PowerPoint presentations to the Central Texas Conference Service Center (CTCSC) by May 26. You may email them to ; send a copy on a drive or CD/DVD to Vance Morton, 3200 E. Rosedale St., Fort Worth, TX 76105 or post the presentation to a public file share site for download. (Please email the download instructions before 5 p.m. CDT, May 26.)
- If you’re presentation includes an embedded video, that presentation must be received in the Central Texas Conference office by May 19.

Final Tips
- If you find you can’t fit all your content with this size text, please consider building another slide or reducing amount of content. And don’t forget the images for ultimate slide appeal!
- To duplicate the main text templates
- Simply right click on the slide you wish to duplicate and select duplicate slide; or
- Click on New Slide in the ribbon above and select Duplicate slide
