The CT Family Development Credential & Training Program is offered by the Children’s Trust Fund in collaboration with the University of Connecticut Center for the Study of Culture, Health and Human Development.

This five day training institute is based on the successful program and curriculum developed at CornellUniversity in New York; Empowerment Skills for Family Workers. FDC is a professional development model used in 18 states nationally.

There is no cost to the applicant to attend the Institute. All training costs including fees, materials, and meals will be covered.

In exchange for the comprehensive training, we expect that you will facilitate a FDC course within your community to begin within three (3) months of completing the FDC Facilitators Development Institute at *no cost to the students. Your FDC class participants will be eligible to receive a credential from the University of Connecticut, Center for the Study of Culture, Health and Human Development upon successful completion of the course, a comprehensive portfolio, and exam. *There is a required administrative fee of $75.00 per participant receiving the credential. The credential fee is the responsibility of the participant or their sponsoring agency.
