PALAREA AWARD

The Edgar Palarea Award is offered to all attenders to the Annual CSMA Meeting. The Edgar Palarea Award will reimburse an attendee to the CSMA Annual Meeting up to $300 with valid, original receipts.

In order to be eligible for the drawing, an attendee must attend all events of the meeting including the business meeting and the continuing education sessions. The drawing is held on Sunday at the close of the meeting.

The winner of the Palarea Award must write a summary/perspective of the meeting which must be sent to the President and Treasurer within 30 days of the meeting. This report will be posted to the CSMA web site. No reimbursement will be paid until the report is received within 30 days from the end of the meeting. Any extension must be approved by the Executive Committee.

Dr. Palarea was our physician-advisor since the beginning of this Society. Dr Palarea also served on the national level and with the previous association before CSMA was chartered. As physician advisor, he supported the medical assisting profession, attended our meetings, attended our national conventions and stood for our profession. This Award was established in his memory to promote attendance at our meetings.
