1.4submittals

  1. Product Data: Manufacturer’s product data sheets on each product to be used.
  2. Preparation instructions and recommendations.
  3. Product Drawings: Manufacturer’s drawings showing details and dimensions.
  4. Product Installation: Manufacturer’s installation instructions and procedures.
  5. Product Samples: Submit sample for each component and for each finish and pattern specified, select from manufacturer’s full rang of available colors and patterns.
  6. Product test reports from a qualified independent testing laboratory showing compliance of each component with requirements indicated.

1.5QUALITY ASSURANCE

Installer qualifications: Engage an installer who has no less than 3 years’ experience in installation of wall panels similar in complexity to those required for this project.

Product quality standard: To comply with AWI section 500 for flush fitting wood paneling. Quality grade to be premium.

Code compliance: Assemblies should conform to all applicable codes including IBC, UBC, SBCCI, BOCA and Life Safety.

1.6Delivery, Storage And Handling

  1. Open packaging promptly after delivery and inspect panels carefully.
  2. Contact freight carrier if the product has been damaged in transit.
  3. Store product in a cool, dry environment.
  4. Do not subject panels to high humidity or moisture.

To ensure product performance, a temperature range of 60°-80°F (16°C-27°C) and a humidity range of 35-55% must be maintained during storage, installation and product life cycle. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.

1.7Project Conditions

  1. Job sites should be fully protected from the elements with HVAC operational at normal temperature and humidity levels of 60°-80°F (16°C-27°C) and a humidity range of 35-55%.
  2. All “wet work” should be completed before MDF products arrive on the job. Never store material in areas with newly poured concrete or in rooms that have been recently dry walled or plastered and never store material in a garage, on a basement, or directly on the floor.

1.8Warranty

A.All products shall be warranted to be free from defects for a period of 30 days after installation.

2.2Materials

  1. All unfinished and pre-finished panels shall be CSI Wall Panels. No substitutions.
  2. CSI Wall Panels shall be fabricatedwith a Computer Numerical Control Routercreating unique design and continuous appearance upon installation. Finish and appearance shallbe chosen from CSI Wall panels design center.
  3. CSI engineered support/ ATTACHMENT system must be use for the installation of the panels. The installation system locks the panel in place. It is concealed allowing pre-finishing. Providing. easy and fast future removal.
  4. CSI Wall Panels shall be constructed of the following. Designer to choose from CSI Wall panels design center.
  5. Medium Density Fiber Board (MDF) engineered wood panel with exceptional qualities, including a smooth, unblemished surface and homogeneous core. Low abrasive content and light color, providing for unsurpassed ease of routing and finishing. All CSI Wall Panels shall comply to local CARB and formaldehyderegulations and shall comply with HUD 24, CFR Part 3280 Standards as set for particleboards.
  6. CSI Wall Panels shall have surface finish as follows. Designer to choose from CSI Wall panels design center.
  7. Paint System for MDF for customer applied, on-site finishing.

Provide paint system that is compatible with CSI Wall Panels, under conditions of service and application as demonstrated by manufacturer, based on testing and field experience.

  1. Epoxy system that is 100% solids class 1 Fire Rated, light-weight. TEXTURE system specially formulated with a consistency for sculpturing. TEXTURE systemcan be tinted or painted and will even accept stains
  2. FOIL FUSSIONED TO PANEL TO ACHIEVE DESIRED FINISHES

Part 3Execution

3.1Preparation

  1. CSI Wall Panels system shall not begin until all wet work such as concrete, plastering and terrazzo is completely dried out.
  2. CSI Wall Panels system shall not begin until the building has been closed to the weather and suitable mechanical ventilation is supplied.
  3. All walls or partitions which are to receive CSI Wall Panels are to be solid, flat and dry. Recommended stud spacing not to exceed 16” on-center.

D.Care should be taken to prevent moisture from penetrating through walls by supplying a proper vapor barrier.

3.2Installation

A.All CSI Wall Panel System panels are to be installed in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s written installation instructions.

B.Question regarding variances from recommended installation instructions should be referred to CSI Wall Panel System Engineering department.

C. Immediately upon completion of installation, clean wall panels and accessories in accordance with manufacturer's recommended cleaning method.

Remove surplus materials, rubbish and debris resulting from installation as work progresses and upon completion of work.

  1. Protect installed materials to prevent damage by other trades. Use materials that may be easily removed without leaving residue or permanent stains.
