Crunch time at IFE2015

Visitors to IFE2015 will be able to sample the distinctive ‘crunch’ and award-winning flavours of Pipers Crisps; arguably the UK’s favourite crisp. In a recent survey Pipers’ crisps were the highest ranked ‘Posh Crisp’ and they’ve also been voted Britain’s ‘Best Brand’ of savoury snack for the last two years by specialist food retailers.
Premium crisps are the fastest growing sector within the snack market and more and more retailers are choosing Pipers Crisps to cash in on this growth area. The boom is being driven by the growing taste sophistication of consumers who are increasingly seeking out authentic flavours and genuine provenance in premium snacks.
“Pipers Crisps meet this consumer demand perfectly,” says founder Alex Albone. “Not just through the quality and taste of our crisps, but also because Pipers represents something a little bit different. We don’t supply the major supermarkets, so our crisps are not seen everywhere; this fact is appreciated by consumers who value our originality and distinctiveness. It also benefits our retailers who can offer a real point of difference at a sensible margin,” says Alex.
“There are also important differences in the way we achieve our taste and quality. We’ve always made our own crisps in our own production facility. There are still a few brands that don’t make their own and, for us, this is an important difference. It shows we know what we’re doing and that we’re passionate about taste, product quality, freshness and shelf life - vital ingredients for our success,” he adds.
“We’ve also worked hard to make sure our crisps are easily available across the UK. We have our own personal delivery service operating out of three regional hubs, or customers can buy through our carefully selected regional wholesalers,” Alex says.
Pipers’ gourmet crisps are now available in around 5000 outlets across the UK, including cafés, coffee shops, bars, pubs, food halls, farm shops, delicatessens and specialist retailers.
