CrossBridge Prayer List
Praises
Continue to pray for the CrossBridge friends expecting a little one(s): Matt and Sumer Jones (having a baby girl!), and Philip and Sarah Arthurs (baby due in December!).
Callie Kok was baptized Wednesday night. We praise God!
We praise God for the Hughes family. On July 3rd, Eric and Sara (along with big sister Elizabeth) welcomed Catherine Leigh into their family as she was born just one day before America’s birthday! She was 7 pounds and 12 ounces and 20 inches long. The delivery went well and they had a front row seat to the fireworks the next day! Sara is now home and is being cared for by her mother and mother-in-law. We are so happy for you all!
Lora Retherford’s blood pressure elevated which prompted an emergency room visit. It was determined that the babies would need to be delivered by emergency C-section. They were and we are overjoyed to announce the arrival of Allyn Elizabeth and Henry Jackson Retherford. Allyn Elizabeth is 4 pounds and 14 ounces. Henry Jackson is 3 pounds and 13 ounces. Both babies are in the NICU at St. Vincent’s.
The most pressing prayer need right now is for Lora’s blood pressure. Please pray that it is regulated. Please also cover the babies in your prayers as they grow. Lift up Jeremy as well. He shared that family is very present right now so they are taken care of. He also shared that because of Lora’s blood pressure they would prefer limited visitors at this time. Once they are all home they will happily welcome guests.
Jeremy sent this update today. “I can't tell you how much we appreciate you and the rest of our church family and the prayers. The babies are progressing well and we are praying that the girl will be off the breathing machine later this week. Lora still is dealing with high blood pressure and most likely will be staying an extra day in the hospital.” Continue to keep the Retherford family covered in prayer.
Prayer Requests
Cathy Troxler writes, “Please let everyone know how very, very grateful we are for all the prayers, cards, love and support. It means a lot to us. I go in on Thursday for my next chemo, so please pray it goes well. We are so thankful for our amazing church family!”
Ernie Davis is continuing his chemotherapy treatment this week. Please keep praying this treatment is effective with minimal side effects.
Sandi Dill has returned to the hospital with a flare up from her Chron’s Disease. Please pray for immediate and sustained healing for her.
Emily Clark has broken her foot. Please pray for complete healing for her. Also lift up Jenny as she is away on a mission trip in China.
We have been in prayer for Roger Harp, Paul Lewis’ uncle. Paul sends this update. “I talked to my mom today for an update on Roger. He is still in a coma and it is not medically induced. He has good vital signs and she knows they left him off the respirator all day Wednesday, but she doesn't know if he is still off or not. One of my cousins who is a nurse went to visit and talked to Roger's nurse, and it the nurse's opinion that he would not come out of the coma. My mother says she can't believe that. He survived lung cancer, and survived the initial fall, (only because his helper had arrived early to the job site and saw him fall), so God must have a plan here. Roger is a good man and he would be sorely missed if he did not come out of this. He really needs our prayers to come through this, and his family needs prayers to handle the worry and stress.”
Keep the Player family in your prayers. It sounds like Amy’s father is nearing the end of his battle with cancer. Amy writes, “Please add my family to the prayer list. My Dad was diagnosed with cancer a couple of weeks ago and since then has had a rapid decline. He is now in inpatient hospice in Pensacola. I was with him last week and will be heading down again the doctors told my brother they think he has 1 to 3 days. I really appreciate everyone at CrossBridge and am very thankful to be a member of the family there.”
Amanda Jackson writes, “I would like to request prayers for my Father, Don Jackson. He is going through many struggles and could sure use some prayer warriors.”
We continue to be in prayer for Michael Schroeder, the Sabens grandson. He received some sad news as he has been diagnosed with a disease called ‘noonan’. Let’s lift up little Michael to our God and pray that He would heal little Michael. He has been through so much.
Julie LeNoir writes, “Test results showed that Joe's dad (Clyde LeNoir) who lives in Meridian, MS has cancer. He has begun chemo. Please pray for healing. Thanks!”
Andy Long writes, “A coworker’s wife had a mastectomy last August. Sandy Yerby was told that it appears the cancer is back in other areas of her body. Please add Sandy and Richard in your prayers.”
Keep praying for Amy Sokol’s sister in law Sophie Slate. She was diagnosed with esophageal cancer but treatments are working. Please continue to cry out to God for healing.
Gerri Basic- Julia Brackeen’s step-mom has been moved to an assisted living facility to continue therapy and rehab from a head trauma and surgery. Please pray for healing.
Sarah Rodas asks for prayers for her father Keith Tice. Please pray for healing for him.
Leah Eagle writes, “My sister, Paula Duncan, was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer. She is undergoing chemo treatments. She will have surgery in late summer followed by radiation. Please pray for her as she embarks on this difficult journey and pray for complete healing.”
Please pray for Holly Beth and Blake Harris. Holly Beth is the Heffington’s granddaughter- daughter of their oldest, Laine. Holly was due to deliver the Heffington’s first great grandchild. Sadly before delivery, the baby has gone to be with Jesus. Please cover the Harris’ with your prayers and lift up the Heffington’s as they grieve and minister. The Harris’ attend at Homewood so pray for that church family as they surround this family with their love. It is in moments like these where we grieve- but we grieve with hope.
Cathy Troxler writes, “Please add someone to the prayer list. My sister-in-law, Kate, is an army doctor who is being sent to Afghanistan. She will be there for at least 6 months. I'd really appreciate prayers for her safety and also for the well-being of my brother (her husband) Alex and their 18 month old daughter Penny.”
Paige Sullivan writes, “Would you please add my dad to the prayer list, Cecil Newman. He has a wound on his foot that is not healing and also is a diabetic. Pray for dad to do as the doctor has ordered so he will not have to have his toe removed. Thank you.”
Steve Lawrence writes, “On the prayer list, please add my mom Darlene next to my dad. Dad is doing well. He is going to get a full body scan to find out where the cancer is left in his body. He has aged a lot from all the treatments. My mom has recently had a lot of health related issues, but seems to be doing a lot better.”
Mandee McDonald’s Mom Mrs. Gerchow is home under the care of Hospice. Please continue to lift her up to the Lord.
Bob Gerchow (Mandee’s Dad) is undergoing radiation treatment for prostate cancer. Please cover him in prayer.
Sean Boogard asks for prayers to be freed from his Asperger’s symptoms.
Emma Jamison is having some health complications. Please pray for complete healing.
Clark Ogle has asked for prayer for macular degeneration. Please lift him and his family up to God this week and ask for healing and help.
Please edit or add to these requests. They will be distributed by e-mail on Monday.
