CRONOLOGICAL SEQUENCE OF EVENTS, ACTION TAKEN, MESSAGES PASSED

1425 / Heard radio call from rib “Spare Rib” to PCG asking for assistance – broken down. Message constantly repeated.
Watchkeeper Reeves phoned PCG to ask if they were aware of the distress call. They confirmed yes, but could not
contact them. Phone from PCG to ask us to radio “Spare Rib” to confirm nature of distress. Watchkeeper called
“Spare Rib” - no response. Reported this to PCG
1604 / Phone from PCG to advise that “Spare Rib” had now gone ashore at West Bexington – could we see any vessel in
the area able to tow. Watchkeeper informed PCG no vessels present.
INCIDENT CONCLUSION AND OUTCOME (PERSONS ASSISTED AND BY WHAT MEANS)
Phone call from PCG to confirm they had contacted crew of “Spare Rib” by mobile phone and were
Arranging assistance. RNLI towed vessel back to West Bay
