20 November 2011

  1. Croftonpark.com

Father Bates updated everyone on the progress of Croftonpark.com, he is still having to project manage this but has found some volunteers with an IT and editorial background. More volunteers are still needed to take on the different interest pages and update them, at least every two weeks. They are currently exploring the social media aspect of the website. It was agreed the website can also be used for as a consultation to for the Crofton Park assembly. Father Bates has agreed to ensure that we have the front page live to show at the assembly meeting on November 9. The community notice boards which are up and in use can be used to promote the webpage as part of the Crofton Park marketing plan. The project team are also looking into what other website to approach to get a link in their pages.

  1. Crofton Park community carnival 2012

It was agreed that after the success of this year’s carnival that we would plan another carnival in partnership with the community and local business. If the carnival is to take place at the same site the was discussion about joining forces with St Hilda’s Fete which run on the same site, to pool effort and resources. Steve from the Brockley Jack has offered to help with the planning of the 2012 site. Also possible extension of the Carnival onto the main road to with the shops participating.

It was agreed the Madcap coalition were fantastic for the children’s entertainment and should be invited to participate again, particularly as their Madcap Olympics can be done as part of the 2012 Olympics theme. It was agreed to start planning the event from January 2012 and recruit additional volunteers at the January assembly meeting. Father Bates can also bring in those who helped plan St Hilda’s fete.

Based on the lessons learned form 2011, it was agreed that the event should run 3pm – 8.30pm and all entertainment be based in the street with the stage moved into the middle of the street. Because of so many things happening at that time of the year in a Saturday, it was agreed to keep it on the Friday, the provisional date being Friday 6 July. All the primary schools are to be invited to participate in January 2011.
