Criteria for Nomination for State/Ut Level Selection Camp
CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION FOR STATE/UT LEVEL SELECTION CAMP
1. One NSS Unit can nominate maximum 4 (four) nominations in total under both the categories i.e. for marching contingent and cultural contingent.
2.Each nominee must fulfill the following criteria:
A:For Marching Contingent:
i)Should be from Graduation Degree Level only.
ii)Should have completed one-year volunteership
iii)Should be unmarried
iv)Height: 155-165 cm for girls and 165-175 cm for boys.
v)Weight: There should be no evidence of weak constitution, bodily defects or
under weight or obese.
vi)Chest: Fully expanded chest should not be less than 80 cm (boys) and 75 cm
(girls). The minimum range of expansion after full inspiration should be 5 cm.
vii)The qualifying physical standard are as under;
Should be able to run up to 2 km in 15 minutes.
Pushups and sit ups (minimum 20 for boys and 15 for girls)
Chin ups (minimum 08 for boys and 05 for girls)
B:For Cultural Contingent:
i)Nomination may be from any class from +2, Graduation or P.G. Level.
ii)Should have completed one year volunteership
iii)Should be unmarried.
iv)Should be physically fit to participate in R.D. Parade Camp activities
v)Should have continuous training in the performing field for a minimum of 3 years or belong to a traditional performing artist’s family.
vi)Should have won a prize in the University or State level performances.
C.Tentative Programme Schedule for State/UT Level Selection Camp:
09.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. -Registration and distribution of Chest Numbers
10.00 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. - Assembly in the Auditorium in the common hall and
briefing about the R.D. Parade Camp 2010.
10.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. -Measurement of Height, Chest and Weight
11.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. -Physical Fitness Test
1130. a.m. to 12.30 p.m. -March-Past practice and selection
01.00 p.m. to 02.00 p.m. -Working lunch for all the participants
02.00 p.m. to 04.00 p.m. -Selection for cultural participants and viva.
04.00 p.m. -Departure

FORM OF INDEMNITY
In consideration of my being nominated at my request to undergo all types of training and also participating in any camp / course / adventure training activities in / outside NSS and traveling I undertake and agree that neither I nor my executor / administrator will make any claim against the Govt. of India or against any officer of NSS / Principal / Programme Officer / Programme Coordinator / State Liaison Officer / Youth Officer / Assistant Programme Adviser / Deputy Programme Adviser in respect of any loss or injury to the property or person (including injur7y resulting in death), which may suffer while or inconsequence of my being in training / participating in any camp, course, adventure training activities in / outside NSS and traveling I understand that no compensation will be paid by the Government of India or any officer as mentioned against any such loss or injury (including injury resulting in death) and I agree so as to bind myself executors and administrators to indemnity to Government of India, and NSS officials or any person in the service of Government of India against can claim which may be made any third party against them or any of them arising out of any act of default on my part during or in connection of said training camp / course / NSS Pre-RD / RD Parade Camps / Adventure training and journey by Road / Rail / Sea / River and Flight.
