Crime Watch Report for March 18, 2011 through March 24, 2011

CASE # 11-0937 LARCENYOn Friday, March 18, 2011, Cpl. Pritt received a complaint from a resident of Independence who stated that a go-cart had been stolen from his residence. The go-cart was black and had 8-inch rear wheels and a full roll bar cage. Anyone seeing this is asked to contact the sheriff’s department.

CASE # 11-0944 DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTYOn Saturday, March 19, 2011, Deputy Rodeheaver responded to the Masontown area in regards to a destruction of property complaint. The complainant stated that the glass to his storm door had been broken.

CASE # 11-0958 LARCENYOn Sunday, March 20, 2011, Deputy Baggett received a call from a resident of Kingwood who stated that a license plate had been stolen from his boat trailer while it was parked at his residence. WV 185681.

CASE # 11-0965 LARCENYOn Monday, March 21, 2011, Deputy Mitter received a call from a resident of Thornton who stated that his 2012 registration sticker had been stolen from his Toyota truck.

CASE # 11-0968 FRAUDOn Monday, March 21, 2011, Deputy Mitter received a complaint from a resident of south western Preston County who stated that a fraudulent Dish Network account had been opened in her name from an unknown person in California.

CASE # 11-0967 LARCENYOn Monday, March 21, 2011, Deputy Tichnell received a complaint from a victim of a larceny. The victim stated that her wallet had been stolen from her vehicle while it was parked in Rowlesburg. Her driver’s license, debit card, credit card, social security card, car keys and cash were stolen. Any witnesses are asked to contact the sheriff’s department.

CASE # 11-0978 EMBEZZLEMENTOn Monday, March 21, 2011, Lt. Stiles received an embezzlement complaint from an individual of Kingwood.

CASE # 11-0979 FRAUDOn Monday, March 21, 2011, Lt. Stiles received a call from a resident of Newburg who stated that a foreign speaking male had called her and offered her $1000.00 dollars if he could ask her some questions. The individual provided no information and hung up the phone. As a reminder: be cautious of possible scams.

CASE # 11-0986 LARCENYOn Tuesday, March 22, 2011, Lt. Stiles received a call from an employee of a company in the Bruceton Mills area who stated that property belonging to the company had come up missing. This is a continuing investigation.

CASE # 11-0987 LARCENYOn Tuesday, March 22, 2011, Deputy Sinclair received a call from a resident of Arthurdale who stated that the front tire of her van had been stolen off of her vehicle.

CASE # 11-0990 DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTYOn Wednesday, March 23, 2011, Cpl Root and Deputy Sinclair responded to Snowy Creek Road near Terra Alta in regards to a destruction of property complaint. Mailboxes had been destroyed and a vehicle was left at the scene. This is a continuing investigation.

CASE # 11-0996 DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTYOn Wednesday, March 23, 2011, Deputy Mitter responded to the Oak Grove area near Terra Alta in regards to a destruction of property complaint. The victims mailbox had been smashed.

CASE # 11-0997 LARCENYOn Wednesday, March 23, 2011, Lt. Stiles received a report of a stolen renewal sticker from a vehicle.

CASE # 11-0999 BURGLARYOn Wednesday, March 23, 2011, Deputy Sinclair responded to the Masontown area in regards to a burglary complaint. Jewelry, money and a GPS unit had been stolen. This is a continuing investigation.
