Detailed description
Please include photos, plans, and measurements. This will make it easier to scope.
If required can the club provide transport to and from the Club for students-must have valid DBC (new CRB check)
Students volunteering will be part of the V volunteering programme-Club will sign off hours worked/volunteered at Club
Applying for College support does not guarantee that the jobs will be taken on. The decision of the college will be final.
Clubs pay for all materials. College may be able to price up the materials and recommend a supplier. The Club must order and pay for the materials.
Clubs understand that projects may take 9 months to complete. No apprentices are used by the College-only full time students are used.
Potential jobs/projects
- Joinery
Storage, sheds, window frames, skirting, door hanging, doorframes, architrave, small roofs (not erected on site by students- kit form), sight screens, plus painting
- Brickwork
Small walls, partition walls
- Fabrication
Gates, railings, ground machinery-patch up repairs-i.e. grass box patching, straightening.
- Painting and decorating
- Plastering
Work that CANNOT be done-Electrical and plumbing
How far will the College travel to jobs? A journey that will take approximately 40 minutes
- Millom, Haverigg, Coniston, Kendal, Grange-and clubs inbetween.
Clubs further away can apply if the project can be constructed at the college. The club will have to arrange transport.
Students cannot work above 2 meters due to H&S reasons.
