1. Create a Phone Security Profile and enabled the Digest Authentication:
  1. Add ATA to CUCM as a Third-Party SIP Device (Advanced)
  1. Assign Digest User to ATA – I added myself
  1. Make sure you go to End User and set your Digest Credentials in End User management and also associate yourself to the device or create end user and set digest credentials

  1. Connect the ATA and follow the steps in the manual to register the handset to the ATA. You will need to connect your laptop to the Ethernet port of the ATA. Once the Handset is registered to the ATA you can use the on screen menu of the Handset to get the IP address. Note the ATA is not registered to CUCM yet.
  2. Open up web browser and enter the IP address of the ATA. You will be taken to the Phone Adapter Configuration Utility. To log in you will use the default credentials – Userid: admin, Password: admin.
  3. In the Configuration Utility page click on the Network Setup tab. Under Basic Setup-Network Service change to Bridge mode and then click submit. You will get a Warning about rebooting and disconnecting. Click OK. The webpage will restart.

If Login screen does not come back up just re-launch the admin page and log back in.

  1. Once logged back in go to Voice Tab and select SIP from the left column and fill in the following fields – SIP Server Name (Primary Sub for the DP), SIP User Agent Name (Extension), and SIP Reg User Agent Name (Digest User):
  1. Next go to Line 1 and disable it by changing selection to NO (do the same for PSTN):
  1. Next go to DECT Line 1 and fill in the following fieldsthen click Submit –
  1. Under SIP Settings: SIP Port (5060) ** see note at bottom
  2. Under Proxy and Registration: Proxy (Primary Sub for DP),
  3. Under Subscriber Information: Display Name (Name of User), User ID (Extension of User), Password (Digest password), Use Auth ID (set to YES), Auth ID (Digest UserID), Directory Number (User Extension)
  4. Under Call Feature Settings: Voice Mail Number (XXXXXXXXXXX), MOH Server (MOH Server, I couldn’t get this to work)

  1. Configuration page will reset:
  2. ATA on CUCM should go from unknown to Rejected:
  3. Assign Extension to Line 1 in CUCM and reset. If the ATA does not register with CUCM after a minute or so restart the ATA through Configuration Utility. To resart go to Administration->Reboot. Click OK on warning popup
  1. ATA is now registered
  2. To add additional lines select the next available Dect Line in ATA Configuration Utilityand follow steps 10 – 14.

** Make sure Port number stays 5060 or whatever port you assign to Phone Security Profile. If adding additional lines to the ATA (up to 5) you will need to change this port number to be the same for all lines or ATA will read Partial Registration in CUCM.
