  1. Important Hispanic Figures

Research a Hispanic historical figure or hero from the list provided. Learn as much as you can about this person. Create a poster representing this person and schedule a time to come in (or during class if you are brave) to give a brief presentation (Level 2 and above should be done in Spanish, remember that all writing must be in English but you are presenting in SPANISH) over what you have learned. You must include the following and provide detail: Who the person is, nationality, profession, the impact/importance they had and a reflection on why you chose that person and how you can relate to them (3-4 minutes).

  1. Pen-Pals

Find a pen-pal from a different Spanish class of the same level or above and start email correspondence all in Spanish. Print out at least four emails for proof.

  1. Authentic Food Selfies

-Make an authentic Hispanic Dish (from any of the 21 Spanish speaking countries) for friends/family/class. Turn in mini-photo journal/poster with at least 10 selfie pictures with captions in Spanish underneath along with the recipe. Use commands. Samples welcome!

D. Interview Video

Interview a native Spanish speaker. Minimum 15 minutes. The interview must be done in Spanish, see the list of interview questions attached, you must ask 10-15 of these categories (but you are also encouraged to personalize your interview): name, age, country of origin, job/profession, family, hobbies, important event, childhood, how many languages they speak, travel, experience learning a second language, likes/dislikes/favorites, role model/heroes, memorable moments, future goals/ plans. You must submit the video of the interview.

  1. Music
  • Write a song in Spanish and record it. You must turn in a copy of the lyrics and recording.
  • Make an appropriate music video for one of the songs we have learned in class. Make sure the video tells the story of the song and that you creatively demonstrate understanding of the song meaning, not just random dancing and images. (You may do this activity with a group)
  1. Suggestions

Do you have another cultural activity in mind? No problem, just make sure you run it by me first. I need to approve it before you do it.
