CPCS Guidelines: Use the online form to apply

Only Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), who meet Georgia Law on Supervision, may apply per GA Licensing Board Rule.

Georgia Law: License has been held in Georgia for at least (GA Code 43-10A)

3 Years of post LPC Licensure with a Masters Degree

2 Years of post LPC Licensure with an EdS Degree

1 Year of post LPC Licensure with Clinical Mental Health Doctoral Degree (After Degree Has Been Confirmed)

Degree must be in a Counseling Related Program per GA Composite Bd Rule 135-5-.02

Fees

Application:

  • Non-member: Fee $150.00 (Fees can be paid by check or online, Supervision tab)
  • Current Clinical Member of LPCA: Fee included in Clinical Membership

Renewal:

  • Non-member Yearly Fee: $750.00 (Fees can be paid by check or online, Supervision tab)
  • Current Clinical Member of LPCA: Fee included in Clinical Membership

Supervision Training Received: Three (3) options

Option A: Attended 24 CE Hours of Clinical Supervision workshops including 3 Ethics of Supervision CEs within the last five years.

Option B: Completed Graduate Coursework in the area of Clinical Supervision with in the last ten (10) years.

Option C: Current ACS issued by NBCC or currently licensed as a Clinical Supervisor in another state.

AAMFT Supervisor or ACS- Addiction Supervisor Does Not Apply

CE Guidelines

  • Workshops must have some variance of the word “Supervision” in the title or provide outline, clear definition of the course, and any other supporting documents. If the workshop is about supervising employees, or addiction supervision it will not be accepted.
  • Workshop must be about clinical supervision
  • Not entirely AAMFT supervision
  • NOT addiction supervision or employee supervision training
  • Option A must include 3 CEs in the area of Ethics of Supervision
  • The 3 Ethics CEs must be in person and not electronically delivered (Per GA Composite Board Rule), Ethics CEs must have some variance of the word Supervision and Ethics in the titleor you must provide full documentation about the content of the workshop. It will be up to the CPCS committee to accept or deny CE trainings
  • Only 1/3 of the CEs can be obtained online (Electronically Delivered) A Maximum of 8 hours, no Ethics online
  • The application must include Copies of the CE Certificates. Please read the guidelines for what must be on a CE Certificate. If you have a certificate that does not contain the required items, contact the provider.
