COURSE GOALS: The New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is sponsoring an opportunity for participants interested in a one day session on Tribal Mitigation Planning. Participants will learn about the tribal mitigation planning process, the steps to follow to get a mitigation plan approved by FEMA and potential project funding options.

If you are creating a Tribal Mitigation Plan, up-dating a Tribal Mitigation Plan or thinking about creating a Tribal Mitigation Plan, this is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the Tribal Mitigation Planning process. The FEMA Region VI Tribal Mitigation Planning Lead will present the training session. At the breaks and in-between sessions, the instructor can address issues specific to your Tribe.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: The target audience for this course includes entities involved with creating, up-dating or considering a Tribal Mitigation Plan.

PREREQUISITES: None

COST: There is no cost for participants however lunch is on your own.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS: None. The material that will be covered is normally a 4 day course offered by FEMA.With this condensed one-day version of the course, continuing education credits will not be provided.
