Country Project Guidelines
You must turn in a powerpoint presentation. Do not copy and paste from the website to your presentation. Read it, think about it and put it in your own words.
Your report must contain all of the following:
1. Current population
2. Type of currency used
3. Life expectancy
4. Literacy rate – broken down between men and women
5. The 2 most frequently spoken languages
6. The 2 largest ethnic groups present
7. The 2 largest religions present (remember Christian covers many different
denominations, and break it down into Catholic and Protestant if applicable)
8. Relative location
9. Surrounding countries
10. Continent name
11. Land mass in square miles or kilometers and as a comparison to something in the US
12. Types of food eaten
13. Economic base (manufacturing, agriculture)
14. Include whether or not the country is gaining or losing population
15. Type of government and name of the top leader (King, Queen, President, Prime
Minister, etc)
16. Most pressing issue facing the country right now, either health, economic, natural disaster, etc.
17. Write a paragraph or two, in your own words, with a brief history. Include dates of independence, if they were ever occupied by a foreign country, if they ever played a major role in a war or conflict, why they were colonized, etc.
You must also have a flag, which can be copy and pasted.
You must also have a map of the country and its borders showing the names of bordering countries.
Your report must contain a minimum of 10 slides. Please do not use drum roles or other noises that will detract from your presentation. If you use animation make sure you have tested it out. I expect each slide to remain up on the screen long enough to be read by someone unfamiliar with the information.
