Dear Sir/Madam

Holiday Activity Programme Customer Feedback 2013 - “You Said You Did”

As part of our on going commitment to improve our holiday activity programmes Charnwood Borough Council’s Sport and Active Recreation Services actively seek feedback on the quality, variety and value for money of the activities we deliver. Our customer satisfaction rate for holiday activity programmes is currently 98.8%.

Please find detailed below feedback from customers whose children participated in the Easter 2013 Activity Programme and the action we have taken to accommodate and improve future activity programmes. We trust you receive this feedback positively.

Gymnastic and Games are now included in the summer 2013 programme.
We would not promote tree climbing due to the health and safety implications and potential damage to trees however as part of the summer programme we are offering nature surveys and nature detectives.
Archery is included in the Summer 2013 programme at Beaumanor Hall, Woodhouse Eaves and Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre
Continued overleaf.
Dance remains very popular we are running dance workshops for 5-12 year olds in East Goscote and Burton on the Wolds as part of the Summer 2013 programme.
We are not running Green Fingers as part of the summer programme but we are running a variety of our door activities including; Forest Schools, hunting monsters, pond dipping and national play days.
We are providing crafty crazy golf as part of the programme but due to the low uptake in the Easter 2013 programme we will not be providing traditional golf this summer.
We have planned a day at Tamworth Snowdome which includes a one hour ice skating session.
We are running an athletics day at Stonehill High School in Birstall for 8-11 year olds.
We are running rugby as part of multi-sports sessions this year rather than as a separate session. We have also detailed information on Leicester Tiger’s Rugby Camps.
App as programme doesn’t open on a Samsung phone. / Charnwood Borough Council is reviewing all its web based information and use of social media to try and improve customer access to information from all media channels.
More activities for younger children / 3-4 year olds can now attend a variety of activities including; messy play, Play Doh creations (2 years +), hunting monsters in the wash lands, nature survey, nature detectives, pirate treasure hunt, pond dipping and national play days.
Some activities tricky for pushchair/
wheelchair access / We recognise that not all activities will be suitable for all abilities. Where ever possible we seek to provide opportunities for children with disabilities and make reasonable adjustments. We will also seek to identify in future programmes sessions where push chair access may be an issue and endeavour to inform the customer.

For further details on our summer activity programme please log on at www.charnwood.gov.uk or telephone the Contact Centre on 01509 - 634560.

Yours faithfully
