Cornhusker Power customers give $4,775 to help their communities

Cornhusker Power Goodwill Fund trustees awarded $4,775 to 29 organizations at the February 15 meeting.

Cornhusker Public Power District CEO/GM Clay Gibbs said, “These organizations are doing great things in the community and we are very proud to be a part of it. Please consider rounding up your electric bill and join us in making a difference in your community.”

In Albion, Boone County Historical Society received $300 for fire extinguishers; and Boone Central Post Prom received $75 for prizes.

In Cedar Rapids, Riverside Post Prom received $75 for prizes; Riverside Public School, $200 for an I-Pad; and Cedar Rapids Rescue Squad received $500 for a hydraulic cot.

In Clarkson, Clarkson High School Post Prom received $75 for prizes.

In Columbus, Big Pals-Little Pals received $200 for a banquet; Columbus High School Post Prom, Lakeview Post Prom and Scotus Post Prom each received $75 for prizes; and Boy Scouts of America received $100 for an after school program.

In Fullerton, Fullerton Post Prom received $75 for prizes; and Fullerton Area Senior Center received $300 for entertainment for volunteer week.

In Genoa, Twin River Post Prom received $75 for prizes.

In Howells, Howells/Dodge Consolidated Elementary School received $300 for speaker fees; and the Village of Howells received $200 for paint for the pool bathhouse.

In Humphrey, St. Francis Post Prom received $75 for prizes; and Humphrey Post Prom, $75 for prizes.

In Leigh, Leigh Post Prom received $75 for prizes; Leigh Swimming Pool

received $200 for ladders; and Leigh Elementary School, $300 for an I-Pad cart.

In Lindsay, Holy Family Elementary received $300 for speaker fees.

In Newman Grove, Newman Grove Library received $200 for Mind Ware activities.

In Platte Center, Platte Center Elementary received $200 for an artist fee and supplies; and Grace Lutheran Quilters, $100 for batting.

In St. Edward, Beaver Valley Senior Center received $300 for a refrigerator; Rolling Hills 4-H First Lego League, $100 for Lego parts kit; and St. Edward Post Prom, $75 for prizes.

In Schuyler, P.A.D.R.E. Schuyler Post Prom received $75 for prizes.
