CORDELL CORPORTATION SELECTEDASOWNER’S REP

FOR LAS VEGAS GLOBAL BUSINESS DISTRICT

LAS VEGAS –The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) Board of Directors approved the selection of Cordell Corporation as its owner’s representative for the upcoming Las Vegas Global Business District.

“This is another step forward for the Las Vegas Global Business District,” said Terry Jicinsky, senior vice president of operations for the LVCVA. “The Global Business District is the largest economic development project the LVCVA has embarked upon since the Las Vegas Convention Center was originally built. Cordell Corporation has extensive experience as an owner’s representative and their expertise will help us ensure the project moves ahead efficiently and is done in a fiscally responsible manner.”

As the owner’s representative, Cordell Corporation will oversee the predesign, design and construction phases of the project.

“The Global Business District is one of the most significant economic development programs for Las Vegas, Southern Nevada and the entire state. We are pleased to have been selected by the LVCVA to be the owner’s representative to oversee such an important project,” said Terry Miller, project director and co-owner of Cordell Corporation.

The Las Vegas Global Business District is a transformative economic development project that includes the renovation and expansion of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Plans for the expansion phase of the project include 750,000 square feet of new exhibit space and 187,500 square feet of supporting meeting space as part of the total 1.8-million-square-foot expansion. The renovation of the existing facility and includes a 100,000-square-foot general session space and another 100,000 square feet of meeting space.

The project will support 6,000 jobs and generate a $3 billion economic impact during construction. Once completed, the Global Business District will support approximately 6,000 permanent jobs and generate an estimated incremental local economic impact of $700 million.
