Chapter 1

1.  Verses 21-24 “… to live is Christ, and to die is gain…” “depart and be with Christ,” or “to remain in the flesh is more needful for you.”

2.  No, actually Paul believes that his chains are not a stumbling block, but rather a way to strengthen God’s power and love. He has deep faith that God will bring the best out of Paul’s condition to strengthen his faith and the faith of the environment around him. (1:19-20) (1:12)
