Job Title: Environmental Coordinator RQ-17- 52
TAQA North is currently searching for a contract or permanent Environmental Coordinator. Reporting to the Manager of Well Servicing, the Environmental Coordinator will provide technical support and leadership on a wide range of environmental issues. This role will manage and evaluate reclamation and remediation projects/programs, including contractor management. In addition, the Environmental Coordinator will manage and be responsible for a portion of the annual budget for remediation and reclamations expenditures. The successful candidate will provide expertise, guidance and support to the field and head office area teams.
Job Description:
TheEnvironmental Coordinator’sresponsibilities include:
  • Coordinating wide range of reclamation, remediation projects and maintaining database
  • Working with Field Superintendents and Field HSE Coordinators to ensure TAQA North’s activities are conducted in compliance with jurisdictional regulations
  • Supporting plant site operations, review of yearly action plans, auditing and annual reports
  • Maintaining regulatory expertise through appropriate contact and participation in industry groups
  • Advising Operations and HSE on new AER Regulations, OH&S Regulations, recommended industry standards.
  • Supporting operations with spill response and remediation
  • Providing environmental expertise in the review of incidents and accidents
  • Supporting Business Development on asset purchases and divestments
  • Reporting, safe preparation, invoice approval and budgeting of reclamation and remediation programs.
  • Ensuring licensed facilities meet environmental license requirements
Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related science or engineering field
  • Professional designation (PEng, PAg, RPBio, PChem) or eligible for professional registration
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in an environment position associated with Oil and Gas operations
  • Excellent spill response, reclamation and remediation program and project management experience
  • Experienced with risk based decision making tools for contaminated sites, such as SST, SSRA & SLRA
  • Ability to effectively communicate goals and objectives to co-workers and senior managers
  • Well organized, with well-developed writing skills
  • Ability to travel to field locations as required
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license as well as H2S Alive, First Aid, WHMIS and TDG certification
