FRANKLIN AVENUE BAPTIST CHURCH

CONTINUING STUDENTS
(GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL 2011 - 2014)
All continuing student scholarship recipients who graduated from high school in 2011 - 2014 must meet the following requirements to continue receiving FABC Scholarship funds:
1. Must maintain church affiliation with FABC, or a church where you are under watch care* in the city where you are attending school. The required Attendance Verification Form must be completed and signed by the Pastor of the watch care church, and must be mailed to FABC -New Orleans. If you are in New Orleans or Baton Rouge, then an Attendance Verification Form is required from the teaching ministry, which is either your Bible Study or Sunday School teacher. The Attendance Verification Form must indicate regular attendance to be considered for the scholarship.
2. Must request official college transcript be mailed from the college/university/Technical/Trade School directly to FABC New Orleans by deadline of July 4, 2015.
3. Must meet the GPA requirements according to the following:
If original award was $500 the college GPA must be 2.00 or above
If the original award was $1,000, the college GPA must be 2.40 or above.
If the original award was $1,500, the college GPA must be 3.00 or above.
GPA REQUIREMENT MUST BE MET AT THE END OF THE SPRING TERM. HOWEVER, IF THE SUMMER TERM, IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE SPRING, IS USED TO INCREASE YOUR GPA, YOU MUST SUBMIT ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION ALONG WITH AN APPEAL FORM FOR SCHOLARSHIP RECONSIDERATION.
4. Must be in good academic standing with the institution attending.
5. Must be a full-time student each term, excluding audited courses. Summer enrollment is not required, nor will courses taken in the summer be included in the count of full-time status in a regular term.
*Watch Care is a term used when you place temporary membership at a host church for a period of time. During the period of “Watch Care”, you will be an active member sitting under the preaching/teaching of the minister of the host church, until you return to your home church at FABC.
PROVIDED YOU MEET THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS, YOUR SCHOLARSHIP AWARD WILL BE THE SAME AS THE ORIGINAL AMOUNT, AND YOU WILL CONTINUE TO RECEIVE FUNDS EACH YEAR FOR FOUR (4) YEARS UNLESS YOU GRADUATE IN LESS THAN FOUR YEARS. Please refer to the Appeals Form if you encounter any extenuating circumstances.
