RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepareslessonplansforclassroominstructionandobtainsorpreparesinstructionalmaterialsfor classroomuse;
  2. Developsprogramandcourseoutlines,goalsandobjectives;
  3. Evaluatesstudents’ongoingprogressandperformanceinattaininggoalsandobjectives;
  4. Requestsandmaintainssuppliesandequipment;
  5. Preparesandmaintainsallrequireddocumentationandadministrativereports;
  6. Maintainsknowledgeofcurrenttrendsanddevelopmentsinthefield;
  7. Maintainsasecureclassroomenvironment;
  8. Ensuressafetyandsecurityrequirementsaremetinthetrainingarea.

Physical Requirements:

Physical requirements vary by course subject. Most work is typically performed in a classroom setting with intermittent sitting, standing, and walking. Instructors occasionally lifts or moves light to medium weight objects up to 25 pounds. Some lifting requirements may be higher in the Industrial Technology positions. Instructors must have the ability to speak clearly, hear and understand at a normal conversational level. Hand and finger motion is required for data entry purposes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Most programs only require subject matter expertise via professional, academic and/or personal experience. Some programs may require possession of a state license or industry certification such as SHRM-CP/SCP and PMP. And some programs may require a train the trainer credential such as OSHA. Must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.

Salary:

Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Positions are appointed on a course-by-course basis.
