Designed as a pedestrian friendly, urban village, the West Ave development features over 190,000 square feet of high-end retail space on its first two floors with over 50 30 individual storefronts.

Local design devotees will flock to Jonathan Adler set to open in April 2013 featuring 3,500 square feet of upscale selling space and will showcase Jonathan Adler’s complete range of home décor, furniture, rugs, tabletop collections, bedding, gifts, candles and more. Jonathan Adler is known worldwide for his mixing and matching of bold colors and graphic patterns that create vibrant statements. The new Houston store will debut a brand-new merchandising concept which will be introduced across various Jonathan Adler stores. A “gift bar” will be created to inspire clients with the perfect gifts and clearly defined room vignettes will be created allowing clients to envision how pieces will work in their own homes. Additional services available include complimentary in-home design consultations, a design-your-own program to create custom rugs, pillows and throws, and a custom upholstery program where customers can bring in their own fabrics for a one-of-a-kind creation.

Anchoring the retail component with 34,000 square feet of premium ground floor space is Tootsies, set to open in January 2011. The Mecca of women’s haute couture is widely recognized as one of the finest shopping experiences in the city, offering a vast array of American and elite European designers, contemporary and classic collections, denim, accessories, and shoes. Also joining the West Ave retail mix in December 2010 is Ivory Bridal, a new bridal concept focused on personalized, by-appointment service from a pair of Houston sisters featuring chic couture bridal gowns ranging from lustrous to modern to classic and feminine.

Houston’s fickle foodie flock will crave the addition of Del Frisco’s Grille opening March 16, 2013. Occupying more than 7,100 square feet, have a veritable smorgasbord of delectable dining options from both homegrown restaurateurs and well-respected brands making their Houston debuts. West Ave’sThe legendary Schiller-Del Grande Group, hot on the heels of the successful launch of their flagship RDG + Bar Annie, is bringing an entirely new pair of concepts to West Ave called Ava new chophouse is a more casual offshoot of the brand's legendary steakhouse, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House. Guests can expect some familiar signature items like steaks natch and crab cakes alongside more affordably priced options including wood-oven baked flatbreads, "two-fisted" sandwiches, everything-but-the-kitchen-sink salads and hearty pastas such as beef stroganoff. Meant to appeal to a slightly younger, less business-based demographic, the spacious interior is designed in a modern style with oversized lamps, large leather banquettes and lightening-rod ceiling fixtures throughout. The restaurant will also feature two outdoor patios and an indoor bar complete with flat screen TV’s.

Del Frisco’s Grille and Jonathan Adler will join an already impressive list of retailers and restaurants including Eddie V’s, Katsuya, Pondicheri, Cru Wine Bar, Ligne Roset, Ivory Bridal and more. Brasserie and Pizzeria Alto. Slated for a December 2010 opening, Ava Brasserie will feature a menu of American and Mediterranean favorites such as pasta, seafood, steaks, and burgers in addition to a wide selection of wines and cocktails. The second floor Pizzeria Alto, set to take a bow in January 2011, will offer a selection of designer pizzas, casual shareables, and a late night menu. Nationally recognized restaurateur Anita Jaisinghani, creator of Houston favorite Indika, is bringing the bold and exotic flavors of her native India to West Ave in December with Pondicheri, a traditional, family-style Indian restaurant featuring an all-new menu focused on local and sustainable ingredients. Adwest, the hospitality company responsible for the trendy Washington night spot The Drake and Midtown’s The Red Door, is bringing an as-of-yet unnamed restaurant and lounge concept overlooking Kirby Drive set to open in March 2011.

Having established a dedicated local following with the launch of Eddie V’s Prime Seafood at CityCentre in 2009, Austin-based Eddie V’s Restaurants is bringing their seventh award-winning Eddie V’s seafood, steak and live music concept inside the loop with Eddie V’s Prime Seafood at West Ave River Oaks slated to open this October. Cru, a wine bar and restaurant concept that has been a staple of The Woodlands and Dallas’ West Village, is slated to open in February 2011. Cru offers 300 selections, some 50 wines by the glass, and 14 wine flights daily. The menu will offer a contemporary collection of French-Continental, Asian Fusion, and Wine Country.

After a long day of shopping and nibbling, West Ave guests and residents can relax at recently opened Rome Salon and Day Spa, a resort-style day spa and salon conceived by Las Vegas-based spa operators, Resources & Development. The venue incorporates the theme of ancient Rome with a decidedly urban twist throughout the design and treatments (think milk and honey plus bath/hydrotherapy). Set to debut this holiday season is Azur West, a Shu Uemura Temple salon; one of just three in the U.S. (the others are located in New York City and Beverly Hills). The salon will feature the Shu Uemura Art of Hair line of care and styling products, including a private treatment room for clients to experience the luxurious Shu Uemura hair and scalp treatment ceremonies.
