NEW YORK, NY AND LONG ISLAND CITY, NY July 24, 2013--VIP SUPPORT INC has announced that a portion of the proceeds from Ecuadorian pop star Juan Fernando Velasco’s concert in New York City will go to the nonprofit NYC Outward Bound Schools. Velasco’s new Album “Against Time” has achieved double Platinum status and past albums have been nominated for both the MTV Latin Awards and the Latin Grammy Awards.

“I was educated in New York and I’m very happy to support NYC Outward Bound Schools, which is so dedicated to education throughout the city, and has its home base here in Queens,” said Juan Fernando Velasco.

“We felt that our mission is not only to bring quality entertainment and business services to New York but also to help, in whatever ways we can, the community in which we work,” said Fabrizio Moreira, CEO of VIP SUPPORT. “When we learned about NYC Outward Bound’s work, we decided this organization was exactly the right place for our support.”

Headquartered in Queens, NYC Outward Bound Schools provides a high-quality public school education primarily to students from communities where access to a high quality education is lacking. Latinos represent the largest ethnic-group served by the organization. NYC Outward Bound Schools operates a growing 5-borough network of college-preparatory public schools in partnership with the NYC Department of Education. 70% of the organization’s schools received the highest possible grade on the City’s Progress Reports and 93% of graduates were accepted to college.

"We are extremely excited that our schools will have the opportunity to benefit from Juan Fernando Velasco's NYC concert," said Richard Stopol, President & CEO, NYC Outward Bound Schools. "He is not only an esteemed artist, but also a wonderful role model for our students," he added.

ABOUT NYC OUTWARD BOUND SCHOOLS:
NYC Outward Bound Schools operates a growing network of college-preparatory public schools in all five boroughs, which are run in partnership with the NYC Department of Education. Utilizing the nationally renowned Expeditionary Learning school model, which has roots in Outward Bound, the organization’s schools prepare students for college, citizenship, and the 21st-century workplace by bringing to life the central principle of Outward Bound: that combining intensive challenge with guided support leads to students achieving far more than they ever thought possible.

Since 1987, NYC Outward Bound Schools has served more than 55,000 students through its network schools and its Adventure & Team Building programs. In 2012, 70% of the organization’s schools received A’s on their most recent Progress Reports, compared to just 28% Citywide. 93% of the organization’s 2012 class was accepted to colleges including Princeton, MIT, Bard, Amherst, NYU, Mount Holyoke, Sarah Lawrence and Cornell, and its 18-month college enrollment rate is higher than 98% of the City’s public schools.
