Clinical Mental Health Counseling Students
The information below may be helpful to you in selecting a site for practicum and/or internship field placement. Students are responsible for securing their own field placements sites. All field placements must be in the local UNCP region. Please see the Field Placement Manual for policies, procedures, and forms related to field placements. If you have additional questions about field placements, contact the Field Placement and Testing Coordinator, Dr. Nicole Stargell at .
When making an inquiry about a possible field placement at one of the sites listed in the table below or a site that you have identified, be prepared to describe the expectations and requirements of the practicum and/or internship courses to the site contact. Have a current resume available to send electronically to the site if requested. Use the Field Placement Pre-selection Data Sheet (found in the Counseling Programs Field Placement Manual) to determine if the site is appropriate for you and your professional development goals.
After making arrangements with a site for a practicum or internship, the site will need to be approved by the Field Placement Coordinator, even if UNCP students have previously been placed at that site. The following materials are submitted to the Field Placement Coordinator in application of a practicum or internship field placement:

2. Site Supervisor Form Information Card
3. Field Placement Contract
