Construction Project Manager
Carson Corporation, based in Lafayette, NJ, a premier provider of Directional Drilling and Civil Construction services for over 25 years, has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with strong Civil Construction experience. Our large fleet of heavy construction equipment gives Carson Corporation the ability to perform a broad range of diverse projects. We primarily focus our attention in Horizontal Directional Drilling and Civil Construction. Although complementary, each requires a specialized set of skills that is not easily found all in one company. The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of overall planning and management for various types of construction jobs. Role includes oversight and accountability for Project Planning, Schedule, Cost Management, Contract Administration, Safety Management and Effective Communications while ensuring compliance with the companies quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Monitors the use of all available resources (labor, material, equipment) to enhance the profit of every project
· Managing construction quality, constructability, inspection services, and change management
· Managing construction scheduling and cost controls, construction site office administration and document control, and project close out documentation
· Working as a team with the client, designers, and contractors
· Knowledge of construction safety, safety procedures and enforces SAFETY requirements on the job site
· Demonstrates uncompromising attitude towards SAFETY
· Pre-construction site analysis and planning, including considerations for temporary utilities and structure, construction, sequencing, construction site coordination, site infrastructure, construction-related analyses and plans, etc.
· Constructability and/or peer review of architectural and engineering contract documents
· Managing quality control inspections and reports, field engineering investigations, assessments and reports
· Coordinate with and assist in utilizing and maintaining an issues tracking systems as necessary
· Review all project cost estimates, and provide opinions and recommendations on them
· Conduct a constructability review and site logistics study
· Conduct analyses and prepare reports concerning all schedules submitted by consultants and contractors
· Develop and maintain change management procedures and cost control tracking tools
Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
· 10+ years' experience as a project manager/construction manager representing owners
· Strong contracting background with hands on experience managing construction from “in field trailer” environment.
· Strong understanding contracts and adherence to contract terms
· Experienced in managing multiple projects simultaneously
· Must have good computer skills
· A conscientious attitude towards controlling costs and improving the profitability of the company
· Able to manage stress and work in fast paced environment
· A strong commitment to constant improvement of all operations
· Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work with diverse personalities
