Enclosures Service – Demian Pedroza

Residential Customer Service

ALL customer service related inquiries for RPD should be directed to the CFOR system, not directly to the plant, to engineering or product management. This system has been launched for almost a full year and has shown great success in logging, tracking and resolving issues entered.

CFOR is a web-based case management system, much like the system the IT group uses when you call in with a computer problem. The system will allow managers at the plant to collect and track data on request volume, cycle time, answer quality, etc., that was not available in the past. The customer service representatives at the plants will be graded on their PMP plans, based on data gathered fromthe CFORsystem. CFOR provides a single point of contact that will automatically route issues to the proper plant and department, saving time. This system will allow the Residential Division to properly staff and manage the customer service teams.

Because the data is only collected from the system, please direct plant inquiries and requests through the SalesSupportCenters or National Customer Serviceto enter into CFOR. Requests directly from field sales people will be directed to SSC's to be entered into the system. Please realize that the reps are not ignoring requests that are returned to be re-directed, only sending them through the proper channel. Technical inquiries can still be sent to the RPD Product Management Inbox ().

Landis & Gyr / Meter Sockets – Jon Pickens, Catherine Paige

Happy New Year!!

2007 vs. 2008 meter socket sales through the Sales Division below.

As can be seen, socket sales are down every month from 2007 to 2008. Please be sure to remind distributors that they are required to purchase sockets as part of their Market Builder agreement. If they do not purchase their socket requirement, they forfeit their residential Market Builder rebate.

Overstock material:

Below is a list of overstock material and the quantity on hand. We can fire sale these materials at heavily discounted prices if purchased in significant volumes. Please email for pricing if you can move any of these items. The higher the volume, the better the price will be.

To better service the market for meter sockets and eliminate competition between the Sales Division and the Business Unit Agents, a new alignment has been established. Sales credit for meter socket sales are being combined at the Business Unit and Sales Manager level. The Business Unit Sales Agent Manager (Jon Pickens) will now be responsible for all meter socket sales, whether sold by an agent or by the Sales Division (SD). The SD Sales Manager will also be credited with all socket sales. Loadings will be spread on the Sales Managers based on existing socket sales early in CY09. For more information on this program, follow the link below:

2009 Contractor Advantage Rewards Qualification Finalization

We have now completed the C.A.R. Qualification period. Make sure to check Business Objects under the folder “CMM Reports for SD” for the report titled “CAR 2009 Qualification Monthly Tracking Report”. Click on the report name (not View) for the most current version. If the channel partner is qualified but shown as inactive, that means that the channel partner did not fill out the C.A.R. paperwork which is available available on the Channel Marketing intranet page ( ).

Stock Transformers

If you have distributors that do not stock our transformers due to non-competitive pricing, you should revisit the subject. We have recently revised our pricing on stock transformers, and it is very competitive. With the current market decline, we need to maximize the products that our distributors support us on whenever possible.

A few key features that Siemens offers that many transformer vendors will not:

- Siemens charges no freight on orders over $1,000

- Stock product qualifies for stock payment terms rather than 30 days net on projects.

- Consolidated purchase orders. No need for a distributor to issue a separate purchase order to an independent transformer manufacturer.

Any additional feedback or pricing questions should be directed to your CMM.

Pricing – Michelle Mathis Pricing

In this current market, buyers are certainly more cautious in their spending. Customers will be more demanding on price and bargaining power is leveraged due to ever-present competition. So, how do we push the current price increase through to offset our commodity cost contracts and still gain market

share? SE&A has made a significant investment in a pricing solutions company called Zilliant. .

The Residential Division is a significant stakeholder in this investment. There are four Phases of this Project. Phase 1 & 2 are complete and off and running. The benefits of the analytics will become widespread. There is some exciting work being done to ensure we are benefitting from the training and use of this part of the tool.

Optimization is in full swing and the upcoming rollout of Deal Manager will prove to be one of the biggest advantages in leveraging price in the market place. The basic focus is identifying factors that drive sensitivity in our market, and in our case, specifically the Construction market. It will recommend optimal pricing for willing markets and highlight margin opportunities for each and every product.

The basic concept of the Zilliant pricing science in determining recommended price is our own history. That’s right, our own customers buying habits. Now you might say that in this market you cannot bank on past history to determine future pricing. That’s right, but what you can do is establish that customer’s price sensitivity to the market based on the past.

In Zilliant’s Best Practices article titled:

“Fighting Margin Meltdown”

Even when a market is fairly stable, we have a natural tendency to overestimate buyers’ price‐sensitivities and under‐estimate their willingness to pay; resulting in prices that are lower than the market demands. Given the heightened economic uncertainty and turmoil of the current market condition, it’s easy to see how these tendencies toward overdiscountingcan be magnified in a big way.

Ordering

As the ESP200 is released, the ESP100 product will become non-saleable. If an order for ESP100material is entered during this transition period, SAP will automatically substitute with theESP200 material. Ordersusing ESP200 catalog numbers may also be entered of course. ESP100 orders entered prior to the ESP200 release will still be filled with the existing ESP100 material.

If ordering an ESP200 overload relay, you will notice the parent item(class 48 or 958) will consist of a single component 3UB... This is intentional so that the existing product nomenclature that the customer is familiar with can continue to be used. The actual product shows both the catalog number (48... or 958...) as well as the MLFB number (3UB...).
