·  An Environmental Management Plan which addresses the issues identified in the required Review of Environmental Factors including any site specific issues and the requirements of all authorities; and
·  A Safe Work Plan which addresses WorkCover requirements and Sydney Water’s site-specific hazards.
Where entry to adjoining land is required, permission has been obtained from the affected property owner(s)
who were advised on of the commencement date of the works.

CONSTRUCTION COMMENCEMENT NOTICE (CCN)

Explanatory Notes

1.  The constructor or Water Servicing Coordinator shall complete the Notice, and forward it to the Field Representative (with a copy to the Water Servicing Coordinator) a minimum of two (2) full working days prior to the proposed commencement date.

2.  Inclusion of working hours is necessary to ensure legality of site access in accordance with the Project Specific Quality Plan.

3.  This Notice must not be forwarded to Sydney Water until the works have been approved and all charges paid.

4.  Deferment is defined as a period where a restart date is yet to be determined.

CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL

1.  The Works are to be constructed on behalf of the owner at no cost to Sydney Water and in accordance with Sydney Water’s Technical Requirements and Work Instructions for Minor Works (Sewer).

2.  For junction and sideline installations the Works must provide maximum drainage to the lot.

3.  Where the construction of the Works involve the opening of a road or footpath, it is the Constructor’s responsibility to obtain the consent of the relevant Roads Authority and abide by the conditions of consent as referred to in the Roads Act 1993 granted by the approving Authority.

4.  The Constructor shall take all necessary steps to construct the Works in the shortest possible time and protect from harm or damage any person, property or part of the environment, which may be affected by the construction of the Works.

5.  Two full working days notice, which notice shall include the time and date of which the Works can be inspected, must be given to the Field Representative prior to connection or concrete encasement of the Works, or the backfilling of any trench in which the Works are located. In the event of cancellation of works, notice must be given to the Field Representative as soon as possible. Failure to notify a cancellation of inspection will result in an additional inspection fee being required.

6.  Connections, concrete encasement of the Works, or the backfilling of the trench, shall not take place until the Field Representative has inspected the Works and has authorised connection, concrete encasement and/or backfilling as the case may be. Backfilling of the trench shall not commence prior to the expiration of 24 hours after concrete placement.

7.  The Constructor agrees that where the Works are found by the Field Representative not to conform with the Standards and Specification, the Constructor shall reconstruct the Works or any part thereof and pay any additional inspection fees.

NOTE: Connections shall not be carried out during wet weather.

MEANING OF WORDS

Act / ·  means the Sydney Water Act 1994
Customer / ·  means any person who has taken to have entered into a Customer Contract in accordance with S.55 of the Act.
Customer Contract / ·  means a contract referred to in S.55(1) of the Act.
Field Representative / ·  means any person who represents Sydney Water for the purpose of inspecting the works
Constructor / ·  means a person accredited by Sydney Water to construct specified classes of works in accordance with Sydney Water Standards and procedures
