Office Manager’s Secretary’s Report
Two corrections were made to the August 28 minutes. On Page 2, the first complete sentence in the first paragraph should read “A down payment of $41,133 has been made.” Page 2, the next to last paragraph should read “The fellowship committee has increased social opportunities with a picnic, play at Totem Pole, and a mother’s day activity.”
A motion was then made by Donna Miller and seconded by Sally Bowersox to approve the August 28, 2017, consistory minutes. Motion passed.

Expenses for August $16,425.36

Deficit for last year at this time $ 6,349.91
The Youth Development Fund began six to seven years ago and is designed for assisting youth financially to attend Hartman Center during the summer or to attend a seminary youth program. OLD BUSINESS
Capital Campaign/Boiler Update.
Boiler Capital Campaign (As of September 25)Received one-time contributions / $77,196
Monetary value of pledges received / $31,800
Pledges received thus far in cash / $ 7,768
Total cash received / $84,964
Amount Owed After Down Payment
Boiler contract price / $124,000
*Less down payment / - 41,333
Amount owed after down payment / $82,666
* Lord Abbett proceeds were not used toward the down payment. The down payment was made from monies already received.
Money Available for Boiler ProjectAmount now in capital campaign liability account / $48,630
+ Two Lord Abbett’s that were cashed in / 24,000
+ Edward Jones earnings / 4,163
+ Present capital improvement fund balance / 4,101
+ General fund from ACNB savings / 6,971
Approximate boiler money available / $87,865
The capital improvement fund balance is presently $4,101.60. However, that balance was higher in June and July due to the inclusion of raffle money and donations before the capital campaign actually began. The basket raffle is now a new liability on the balance sheet since it is not going toward the boiler project. It is intended to assist in finishing fellowship hall work, such as clean up and the drop ceiling.
Final payment of boiler. Money that was withdrawn from the Lord Abbett fund will need to be paid back. Pledge money received after the final boiler payment will be used to replace the Lord Abbett Fund.
After the boiler project final payment has been made, reminders will be sent to those who have made pledges but have not yet been received.
Boiler schedule and property committee. Everything is on schedule for completion during the first full week in October. The property committee will meet on October 3. Patch and paint work is needed. A work Saturday will probably be scheduled in October or November. The two filing cabinets in the choir room should not be moved to the Sunday school rooms due to child safety issues.
Attendance at communion. Communion will be held on October 1.

The need for a sign outside the Community Aid bin. A sign in English and Spanish needs to inform people not to let things outside the bins. Staples has the necessary supplies for the sign. Pastor Kim will check into it.
2018 consistory. The nominating committee will be contacting individuals to fill the four vacancies for 2018. A suggestion was made that three people have terms of three years and one person have a term for two years. Terms expiring this year include those of Sally Bowersox, Kim Keiper, Dan White, and Craig Long. The terms of Kim Johnson and Donna Miller expire in 2018; Debra Scarborough, in 2019.
