Conservative RepublicClub of Kingman

March 2017 updates

Boy, the weather is finally starting to get nice up here in Kingman, so I hope everyone will come out tomorrow, March 13that 11:15 AM for our next meeting of the Conservative Republican Club of Kingman at the Dambar Steakhouse. We have a great meeting on tap, featuring the Kingman debut (sort of) of our new Mohave County Sheriff, Doug Schuster. Doug will update us on the latest doings at the Mohave County Sheriff Office, as he has been on the job for now over two months. There will be more than ample time for questions.

As always, entry to the meeting will cost $3, with lunch optional and on your own. No reservations are necessary and the meeting is always open to the public. We’ll still be collecting our annual dues – I finally got new passwords for the website, so I think everyone will start to see a lot of great new stuff there, and you do need to be a member to post.

Your CRCK President and MCGOP Chairman – myself – has been busy lately, and I hope everyone will notice results real soon. Yesterday was the first meeting of the Arizona GOP Executive Committee in Yuma, which I attended along with James Barber, the 2ndVice Chair and Mike Ward (each Congressional District has 6 members on the Exec. Com., 2 are from outside our county and were not present). I can report it was a great meeting, four+ hours long but not at all boring. There is and will be a ton of stuff going on with the AzGOP, as we push to make this state and county even more Republican than it already is. Secretary of State Michele Reagan was there as well and talked about what is going on with several County Recorders (in Maricopa and Pima counties, mostly, which are the problem places). We have an incredibly active new Chairman, Jonathan Lines of Yuma, and I love the direction he wants to take the AzGOP, as well as his energy and enthusiasm.

As MCGOP Chairman, I also plan to be incredibly active. I will be presenting at many political clubs my goals for the party, including recruiting many more active Precinct Committeemen. Together with our District Directors, we’ve already gotten a number, and more will come. I very much invite anyone reading this missive who wants to be active to get in touch with your District Director and sign up – we are going to walk precincts, recruit candidates, sign up new Republican voters, expand our website, open offices in each city year-round, and much, much more. My next talk on this will be March 20thfrom 7-9 PM in Lake Havasu City, at the Havasu Chapter of AzRA, if you need place and direction info, contact me and I’ll get it to you.

Also, tomorrow, due to Daylight Saving Time (not Daylight Savings, it is correctly Daylight Saving), my radio show will be moving to the 6 – 9 AM slot, on KAAA 1230 AM and KZZZ 1490 AM. We are now also on FM, at 97.5 FM in Kingman along with FM 94.1 in Bullhead City, which gives us a very expanded range. Tomorrow I’ll be talking about all the latest news, including the new GOP medical plan, which some call Ryancare, others ObamacareLite, the latest Trump stuff, etc.

Also want to let everyone know the Lincoln Day Dinner for Kingman District 1 of the MCGOP is all set. We have not one, but two great speakers. Both Michele Reagan, our Secretary of State (and Arizona Lt. Gov.) and Jeff DeWit, Arizona State Treasurer (and the Chief Operating Officer of the Trump Campaign) will both be here. The dinner will be at the Elks Club on Gates Avenue, across from the golf course at 5:30 PM. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at our meeting, and will be available until sold out. Due to space limitations, only 200 tickets will be sold, so get yours as early as possible. I’ll have more details tomorrow.

WANT MORE!!! YES!! Well, we are on schedule for the Mohave County Picnic. The date will be August 19, 2017 in the usual spot in the Hualapai’s. Don’t have tickets yet, but that is coming soon. That is where we will draw the winner for the AR-15 raffle. Looking even more forward, Jonathan Lines plans to move the Executive Committee Quarterly meetings around the state, and the spring meeting next year will be in Mohave County. I already have some ideas for setting up this meeting, you may want to see and meet your Republican Party AzGOP officials and see how much work they are doing on your behalf.

As you can see, we have a lot on the plate, but I think everyone is energized by Trump and the opportunity to take our country back from the ruling class and the Washington elites, and I look forward to all of you being a part.

See everyone tomorrow.

LAURENCE SCHIFF, M.D.
