Connections for Success

Spring 2018 Application

Thank you for your interest in applying to the Connections for Success: Leadership and Professional Development Program and Retreat happening March 16-18, 2018.

Students MUST complete ALL questions on this application in order to be considered. This program is only open to sophomores.A sophomore for this program is defined by the time spent at a college, not by credit hours.

Upon acceptance to the program, students must participate in all three activities listed below in order to attend the retreat. Activities must be completed by Wednesday, Mar. 14, 2018.

  1. Complete the 5 FOCUS 2 Self Assessments (access on Fleishman Center website at any time) and meet with a Fleishman Center staff member to review results
  2. Attend an Enhancing Your LinkedIn Profile-Group Appointment (offered weeklyat the Fleishman Center, see Fleishman Center calendar)
  3. Complete 5 interview questions through Big Interview (access through hireBING under the ‘Resources‘ tab) and have a Fleishman Center staff member review.

The Connections for Success Program is an opportunity for sophomores to learn leadership and professional development skills from alumni, employers, and staff through engaging activities and conference-style sessions during an overnight retreat at the Pocono Plateau Retreat Center, Cresco,PA. Transportation to and from the retreat and meals will be provided for students, staff, alumni and employers. A packing list will be provided upon admittance in the cohort.

Binghamton University’s Fleishman Center staff manages the application process. Applications will only be accepted through hireBING.

  2. Upload your résumé and your completed application saved as an “other document” to the Connections for Success: Leadership and Professional Development Program posting in hireBING.

The application deadline is Thursday, Feb. 1.

Students will be notified of acceptance to the 2018 retreat by Wednesday, Feb. 7.

This program is available to sophomores who have completed one full year of college at Binghamton University or at another institution.
