US Youth Presidents Cup

The US Youth Presidents Cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to US Youth Soccer teams from the state to regional to national level. The Presidents Cup gives players an additional opportunity to compete against teams from across the country at a high level for the joy and the challenge of the game. It provides the chance to experience a unique US Youth Soccer event with camaraderie, community and competition through sport. This competition is not for teams that expect to advance in the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series (State Cup).

Below are some general guidelines and information about the US Youth Presidents Cup.

Event Dates: Regional Competition - Memorial Day weekend, May 22nd – May 25, 2015, Slippery Rock, PA. Winners at this event will go on to a National Competition, July 9th - 12, 2015, Overland Park Kansas

Host State Association: PA West

Team Eligibility: The National Presidents Cup competitions shall be open to any team whose players are registered with US Youth Soccer through CJSA if the team is in compliance with all of the following requirements:

A.  The team must be comprised of properly registered and rostered youth players (as defined by US Youth Soccer)

B.  The team must be in good standing with CJSA and must be in compliance with, and has not violated any of the bylaws and policies of US Youth Soccer.

Age Groups: The CJSA Board of Directors set the eligibility requirements for the CT Team representatives for entry into this Cup:

U12SS, U13 and U14 Fall CT Cup winners, both boys and girls, are eligible to apply. If these teams are unavailable the age group will be opened for other teams.

U15 – U17 Premier League D2 and Qualifying league teams, both boys and girls are eligible.

If multiple teams are interested in attending a representing team from CT will be selected and notified.

Competition Entry Fee: $800 per team

ROSTERS: Each club will provide a President’s Cup roster with no more than fourteen (14) players on the U-12 small sized age group and the U13 through U17 age group roster may have a maximum of twenty-two (22) players on the their team roster and a maximum of eighteen (18) players on each game roster. State Associations must supply a roster reflecting the players registered for the State level event, which the PCC can use to determine compliance with the following:

A.  A team must demonstrate continuity of rosters between the league and every level of the Presidents Cup competitions by maintaining a minimum of 9 players common to the roster of the team at every level of the competitions. No player added to a team after the Regional competition is completed shall be rostered on a Presidents Cup team.

B.  Rosters MUST be legible and signed by the State Association Registrar

C.  Players MUST be listed in alphabetical order, last name first

D.  Jersey Numbers MUST be listed on roster

E.  All players will have a uniquely numbered jersey that matches the roster

F.  No team shall be allowed more than the 14/18/22 players on its roster

G.  Team bench personal(maximum of four(4) people will have AND display on their person in a fashion that is easy to see on the lanyard provided the identification passes provided by US Youth Soccer President’s Cup

Guest Players: Guest Players will NOT be allowed on any teams participating in the Region I Presidents Cup competition at any level.

Referee Fees: The three (3) referee system will be used for all games.

Forfeit Fees: Any team forfeiting a game will be fined $500 and will also pay the entire referee fee of the forfeited game. The team will not advance to the next round of competition.

Application: Teams must notify CJSA no later than December 17th if they are available to attend this prestigious cup. Notification of acceptance or non-acceptance will be done shortly after this date.

Game Availability: All accepted teams must make themselves available for ALL Presidents Cup Games. Game schedules will be published by the Regional Cup Administrator and will not be changed within 72 hours of the start of the scheduled match. Teams must recognize that the Region I Presidents Cup becomes your primary focus. Teams are expected to play the published Presidents Cup schedule in preference to any other league competition in which they may be entered. This requirement also applies to tournaments that the team may enter. If your team is not prepared to play the published Cup schedule, your team should not enter the Presidents Cup.

Fines: A State Association may withdraw any of its teams from the Region I Presidents Cup without penalty up to 31 days prior to the start of play; however the entry fee will not be refunded. Any State Association that withdraws team(s) from the Presidents Cup less than 31 days prior to the start of play will be subject to a fine of $1,500.00 per team. In addition, any State Association that withdraws team(s) from the Presidents Cup less than five (5) days prior to the start of the event will be subject to an additional fine of $1,500.00 per team. These fines are to be made payable to Region I and MUST be submitted to the Region I Office within thirty (30) days upon competition of the Region I Presidents Cup competition. Any State Association that is unable to send its Champion team has the option to send its runner-up team.

Any unreasonable forfeits, determined by the Region I Presidents Cup Committee, will be subject to a fine of $500.00 per game forfeited and will not advance to the next round of competition.

Any State Association that does not pay the fine(s) will be considered not in good standing and its teams will not be permitted to play in any future Region I Presidents Cup competition until the fine(s) are paid.

Deposit of $500 must accompany this entry form and is only refundable if the team is not selected. Entry form and deposit must be received by the CJSA Office no later than December 17th. Balance of entry fee is due by January 15th.
