congatec AG sales up by 61%

In the first half of 2010, revenues increased to Euro 18.9 million

Deggendorf, 23rd August 2010 * * * congatec AG, a leading manufacturer of industrial computer modules, reports sales of € 18.9 million for the first six months of 2010. The company increased its earnings by 61.5% as compared to the same period last year, which stood at Euro 11.7 million. The annual turnover for 2009 totalled Euro 26 million.

"We have successfully overcome the economic crisis," states Gerhard Edi, CEO of congatec AG. "Our customers have given up their reluctance to place orders and are optimistic about the future. Technologically, we are still leading edge, and our business model has proven itself in the crisis. All this is reflected in our order books of Euro 19 million, which is an increase of 150% over last year."

Axel Petrak, board member responsible for marketing and sales at congatec, added: "The economic upturn has arrived in Europe. This year also saw the start of a large number of new projects which use our modules in Asia and the US in particular. For the second half of the year, we plan the consistent expansion of our sales activities in regions such as Israel, England and Scandinavia as well as Russia. Our order books are well filled, so we expect to end the year with further revenue growth."
