Conference Evaluation Feedback

HOW PEOPLE FEEL THEY BENEFITTED FROM THE CONFERENCE AND HOW THEY WILL BE ABLE TO APPLY THE INFORMATION IN (THEIR) EVERYDAY LIFE.

Inspirational, offers hope, support and encouragement and opportunity to network

Well done! Great variety of speakers.

This will help me approach the school system in Edmonton with different and valuable tools.

Great conference.

Hard to see the overhead/LCD projector info in Tegler

Had a wonderful, helpful time. Enjoyed parental perspectives

I learned so much that my brain hurts. I am very excited to apply this new knowledge in my own classroom. It was wonderful!

Amazing!

Some of the presentations were extremely stimulating, like a “shot in the arm” reinforcing why we are all working so hard in this area

What an eye opener- as a student teacher I’ve been exposed to more things this weekend than I ever expected. I’m really earning to value the parents and to think about what I say and do thoroughly before I do it.

Listening to all the different viewpoints from teachers, parents etc, has made me look at things from a different perspective to inclusion and teaching in general

Outstanding conference! Thanks

Very informative – Knowledge is power.

Excellent conference, good ideas –nice to hear parents speak.

I embrace what I’ve heard and will follow through with many connections made

I’m a person in my 50’s. I ve gone to scores and scores of conferences over 3 decades. This is a conference that rises above the rest. The spirit was welcoming; the presentations contained both scholarly pieces as well as practical strategies. I feel rich, full and I don’t want to leave!!

Refreshing!

Amazing! So innovative

An eye opener. With plenty of info to use and think about

I have been powerfully impacted—raised awareness—Thank you all –Micah and Janice I am particularly deeply impacted to better understanding through Micah’s presence and story

This was an amazing experience

A wonderful conference outside of the boundaries of my specific interests but really broadened my understanding. Very worthwhile. I wish a broader crossection of people from various backgrounds could be attracted and hear about it.

Provided a broader understanding of issues and initiatives outside of my “direct” field

I am hoping to be able to show/demonstrate my commitment to life long learning by taking initiative and going to this conference even before I am hired.

Outstanding organization of conference!

My career will be greatly impacted as we forge ahead to full inclusion

Great way to network with others and hear varying perspectives

It was so good to get this extra in-depth info after taking ed Psych with you (Tim). I really enjoyed it! I like hearing the wide range of opinion to consider and it gave me quite a bit to think about. Thanks!

OTHER COMMENTS

Great conference—well organized—great speakers

Bringing suggestions back to school. Will implement ideas from some of the sessions/discussions

The only negative comment would be the lack of advertising and the conference was preaching to the converted. The important players, Alberta Ed and ECSB were not present that I could see.

Thank you

Keep doing this please!

Thanks to Tim and his committee fot eh hard work and commitment to this undertaking

I learned a lot and enjoyed it a lot

Thank you

This experience was wonderful and I am so glad to have been a part of it

Parking could have been included in the price as an extra, like $5.00/2days. A made up pass could be given

I know the rate for the hotel was “good” but the area was not good for women attending. I didn’t feel safe.

Do another conference

Thanks do much for this wonderful experience

I will try to come back next year. It was a fun conference

Thank you for the enormous amount of love and work that went into this conference.

Excellent job to every one that was involved

Thank you Tim and all organizers and those who have made this conference possible

THE COST

Early Bird deadline was far too early. Please make it closer to the conference date (eg: 21 months prior)

I love being a student

Very worth it!

Good values

I wasn’t able to pay the conference fee. Thank you for funding it …made it possible for me to attend.

A little expensive for me for one day I’m afraid

THE BREAKOUT SESSIONS

Went to sessions that were very helpful

The ones I attended were outstanding

Overall great

A few were not applicable, but overall they were really good

Depending upon which one…I filled out comments per session

Too short

We needed more time to see all of them! The ones attended were good. Great experience

Great overall, lots of variety –wanted to take it all in

Dynamic speakers—so much to offer

Excellent source of info—food for thought

Excellent sessions, wonderful informed and experienced presenters

Good to get others opinions and views

THE WORLD CAFÉ DIALOGUE

Really enjoyed them—especially the first one

Nice process

Seemed to be a bit long

Very interesting

Needed better structure, facilitators needed more key questions to help conversation, clarify etc.

Dialogue was very interesting I very much enjoyed this

Loved it

Very informative

Reduce length –allow for more sessions

Loved the concept, wanted a bit more time—also believe it lead to cohesion and community early on

Same as above

Would like to see all input ( not just ‘waiters’ impressions)

I enjoyed the discussion but I found the summaries a little difficult because it seemed to reduce the ideas down to generalizations and excluded too much

Invigorating, intellectually expanding.

Best part!

Nice process

THE VENUE

A little cold

Wonderful facility and comfortable environment

Very close to home

Great school

Never present on that screen again please! The college needs to rearrange to room so participants are not looking into the windows—could not see anything on the screen

Great—could have been warmer

Cold

Visuals in the main room hard to see because of light in the background

Good location—projection didn’t work well in bright room (glass wall)

Hard for some to get around, but very accommodating

All fantastic

A little cool (outside and downstairs)

Love Key (or possibly Keg) room

Consider rooms more suited to AV (eg. Brightness)
