CONDITIONSOF ENTRY

  1. All competitors must be affiliated and with good standing to Badminton England or to a National Organisation affiliated to the Badminton World Federation.
  1. The Committee reserve the right to refuse any entry without assigning a reason, also to alter or modify the program in any way they see fit. Providing not less than 16 entries are received in any event the Committee reserve the right to restrict entries to a suitable number at their absolute discretion.
  1. All entries to reach the Hon Tournament Secretary byTuesday 12th January 2010. If, at its discretion, the Tournament Committeeaccepts entries and/or fees after this date, a mandatory surcharge of £5 per competitor shall be applied.

  1. Each competitor (both players in a pair) must enter online separately to be accepted. Competitors may enter “partner wanted” in the “Partners Name” column of the entry form. The Committee willendeavour to find a partner but cannot guarantee to do so. A refund of entry fees for the event will be made where a partner cannot be found.
  1. The penalty system of late with drawlsas stated in the Badminton England Handbook will apply to this tournament.
  1. Competitors must be prepared to play at the time stated for the commencement of each event. If a requested start time is given the event committee will consider this but no guarantee can be given.Competitors start times will be emailed to them and it is the responsibility of the player to check this. Any competitor not ready when called will be liable to be scratched. (15 minutes grace will be given)
  1. PENALTIES. The penalty system will apply, as detailed in the Badminton England Regulations for

Tournaments, to include (not exclusively) the following:(i) Failure to arrive without notification Penalty £100.00 (ii) Failure to arrive with notification but without proper reason Penalty £50.00, (iii) Late arrival on court without proper reason Penalty £20.00, (iv) Cards for Misconduct. The following are the penalties for receiving a card for misconduct: - Yellow Card Penalty £20.00 - Red Card Penalty £40.00. If a player receives a black card the case will be referred to a disciplinary hearing as set out in the Disciplinary Procedure of Badminton England. IMPOSITION / APPEALS. (i) Except for cards of misconduct, any penalty must be in writing and either given at the tournament or posted within 7days of the close of the Tournament to the address on the players’ entry form. Such notice must include the reason for the penalty (as in (a)), the amount of the penalty and the full text of (ii). (ii) A player who is penalised under the penalty system has the right to appeal against the penalty imposed. Such appeal must be made in writing, and sent with the penalty fee imposed, to Badminton England (made payable to Badminton England and sent for the attention of the Head of Competitions and Events) within 28 days of the close of the tournament.

  1. This tournament forms part of the Badminton EnglandOrbital Circuit and as the association points system and regulations /rules will apply.
  1. The draw for all events in this tournament will be seeded by Badminton England & local knowledge
  1. Each competitor, on arrival at the hall, must report to the referee and must not be absent of himself/herself without permission.
  1. The Topracket Orbital Open is run under the Badminton England’s Regulation for Tournaments. Correct Badminton clothing should be worn and the penalty system will apply in accordance with Badminton England Regulations.
  1. No coaching will be permitted between rallies.
  1. Ranking points will be awarded as for a category E Tournament. Circuit points will be awarded, further information may be found on the Badminton England website.
  1. There are limited catering facilities at the venue so please bring your own food and drink for the day but request that no food is taken into the hall to be consumed.
  1. If entries exceed the capacity of the venue the Event Committee may seek further venues to continue the success of the event
  1. If you withdraw from the tournament after the draw has taken place your entrance fees will not get refunded unless you can provide a doctor certificate
  1. Prize money of at least £00 will be distributed amongst the winners and runners-up of each event.
  1. Entry is at the competitor’s own risk, and by signing the entry form the competitor undertakes that to the bestof their knowledge they are healthy to compete. The Committee and the Canford Sports Centre accept no liability for any loss, damage or injuryhowsoever arising.
