CLASS OF 1997

Craig Adams, a 1980 graduate, was a 3 sport athlete earning 10 varsity letters in his career including 4 in football, 2 in basketball and 4 in track. In the sport of football Craig's name appears in several school record categories. He holds the record for fewest interceptions in a season of 2, most career total yards at 3538, ranks 8th as the career rushing leader with 1400 yards, ranks 10th as the single season passing leader with 846 yards in 1979 and is the 5th best career passer with 166 completions. Following the 1979 season, Craig was recognized as U.P.I. 1st Team All State, A.P. Honorable Mention All State, 1st Team All NLC, Most Valuable Offensive Back, Tri-Captain and Kiwanis Athlete for the month of October. In the sport of track, Craig set a school record in the 400 running a 50.2. During his senior year he was part of the sectional championship mile relay, finished second in the 400 at the sectional and sixth at the regional. He was selected as the mental attitude award winner and named the honorary captain.

Deb Brownsberger-Keyes, a 1985 graduate earned 11 varsity letters in her career including 3 in volleyball, 4 in basketball and 4 in tennis.In volleyball Deb was a 1st team all-conference player as a junior and senior earning the mental attitude and best server awards as a junior. In basketball Deb was a four year starter. She was recognized as second team all-conference as a freshman and sophomore and 1st team as a junior and senior. Deb was named to the all-sectional and all-regional teams in both her junior and senior years. She was the team MVP and rebound award winner as a junior and senior. In tennis, Deb was selected as all-conference as a sophomore, mental attitude award winner as a junior and team MVP as a senior.

Jim Routhier, has been Concord's trainer (first and only) since 1975, 21 years. He implemented what is believed to be the first student training program in the state. J.R. currently holds an office in the Athletic Trainers Association and has been recognized as the state of Indiana's "Athletic Trainer of the Year." J.R. has also coached softball and volleyball and is currently the head volleyball coach. His volleyball coaching career has spanned 12 seasons in which his teams have won more than 200 matches. Jim has been the head volleyball coach in 1981-'84, 1989-'90 and 1992-present.
