4 Prevention

-The research results are the most important materials of the department. The common network computerdisks (acfiles, acfiles2/3, chemo28d1/2/3/4 and homedirectories)are located at rooms managed by the computer department of the faculty (C&CZ) and back-upped on a daily base by C&CZ. Furthermore, every researcher is responsible for his/her own material.

-Equipment that has to be stored away are valuable portable equipment, such as the beamer and the laptops (e.g. in HG01.723).

-Closing plan: at night and in case of absence the offices and the computerroommust be closed. In the keychest in HG01.715, a master-key is present. B. Loozen, L. Buydens, L. Blanchet and G. Postmaalso have a master key.

-It is not allowed to be alone at the department during the hours that the porters are not in the building. (working days from 22.30-6.30 hrs., Saturdays before 9.00 hrs. and after 17.00 hrs., and on Sundays and official holidays).Working at the department outside office hours should always be reported on beforehand to the head of the department.

-The doors to the laboratories of the other departments (HG01.736 – 01.761) should in principle be closed and locked. In case of suspicious situations close these doors if open (as these laboratories have a strong ventilation system) and contact people responsible for these rooms (the technicians present on 01.728 or other people present in 01.728- 01.733 or prof. Parker (01.718). If no one present, call 55555.

-First aid kit: present in HG01.715(and in HG01.712).
