Papers submitted after these dates, if they will be accepted, may presented in the Conference, but they will not be published in the Conference Proceedings. The submitted extended abstracts (not over 3-typed A4-pages with 1.5 spacing, including figures and diagrams) may include the general significance of the original research work as well as the detailed aspects of the study that is going to be presented, and should be sent to the HERCMA 2005 scientific committee in the HERCMA Secretariat address.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The HERCMA 2005 Conference will take place at the

Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB)

The AUEB is situated near the centre of Athens (within walking distance from the ‘Acropolis’).

Distances by car: about 50 mins from the ‘El. Venizelos’ Airport. The cost of a taxi from the airport to AUEB is about 20 EURO.

WEATHER-DRESS

Expected temperatures are approximately 230 - 300 C during the day.

You may need a light pullover or jacket outdoors after the sunset.

Within the Conference areas there will be an Exhibition related to the functions and products of Computer Mathematics, Scientific Computing and Informatics.

The HERCMA Secretariat will be open at the Conference site, The Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), Antoniadis Building (first floor), on

Wednesday, September 21st in the afternoon, 17.30 - 19.30, and

Thursday, September 22nd from 08.00 - 18.00,

throughout the duration of the Conference.

The participants are encouraged to make their own Hotel reservation mentioning the HERCMA Conference in order to get the special prices for the Conference. SOCIAL PROGRAMME

All Participants and Accompanying Persons are invited to take part in the Reception at the AUEB on the evening of September 22nd, 2005. The rest of that evening (September 22nd) may be used for strolling around the picturesque old town of Athens, the Plaka.

A half-day sight seeing Tour to the city of Athens with a visit to Acropolis or a visit to Cape Sounion (Temple of Poseidon) will be organized in the afternoon on September 23rd for all Participants and registered Accompanying Persons.

The Participants and registered Accompanying Persons are invited to take part in the Conference Banquet in the evening of September 23rd.

Various other social activities (not included in the Social Programme) for the pre and post Conference period (visits to archaelogical sites, excursions, cruises and trips to the beautiful Hellenic islands) will be available.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE AUTHORS

The HERCMA 2005 Conference Proceedings will be published according to the following IEEE prototype format:

1)The Authors who would like to use the Word Editor should download the zipped file "ieeetran"

(

After unzipping this file, it should be placed in the Templates of the Word (Tools/Template and Add-Ins…).

2)The Authors who would like to use the TEX Editor should download the zipped file "ieee-tex".

This file should be unzipped in the TEX directory.

The Authors who are unable to access the web should contact the HERCMA Secretariat asking for the required IEEE typing software files.

The HERCMA Secretariat then will send to them the required format-files on a hard diskette.

Length

The maximum length (including figures) is eight (8) pages for the contributed papers and twenty-two (22) pages for the invited papers.

Deadline

The Camera-ready version of the paper and its electronic version should be received in Athens no later than May 30th, 2005 in order to be included in the Conference Proceedings. Since this is the absolute deadline Authors are encouraged to send it several weeks in advance for checking its suitability for reproduction and to leave sufficient time for the Author(s) to make any necessary changes.

GUIDELINES FOR HERCMA 2005 AUTHORS

Format

The first page of each paper must contain:

  • Title centered and in capital letters immediately below the top line of the rectangle
  • Name and Affiliation of Author(s) centered under the title in capitals and lower case separated from the title by two blank lines
  • Abstract of not more than 150 words separated from name and affiliation by two blank lines

* Beginning of main body of text separated from abstract by two blank lines

* References should be listed alphabetically according to the AMS reference classification scheme

Preparation of copy

The published material will be reproduced directly from the Author’s copy. This may be supplied in one of the following three forms: typeset, typewritten or printed by a high quality terminal printer.

(i) Typeset copy should be supplied to reproduce same size, i.e. no photographic reduction before printing. It must be set to 30 picas (127 mm) wide x 47 picas (199 mm) deep, exclusive of folio or running head lines.

(ii) Typewritten copy or Letter quality terminal printer copy should be suplied for photographic reduction before printing. It must be typed to 180 mm wide x 265 mm deep, exclusive of running head lines, folios (and page margins). This will be reduced to 127 mm wide before printing.

Type in black ink using one and a half spacing. The material must be in single column format on each page. The foregoing dimensions must be strictly adhered to and no additional space should be allowed for running heads, folios or page margins. Each page must contain up to 36 lines and each line up to 66 characters.

The original of line drawings, graphs, tables, captions etc., suitable for reproduction must be the appropriate size and pasted in the correct position. The Typeset or Typewritten pages should not be folded.

GUIDELINES FOR SESSION ORGANISERS

1) Session Organizers are to invite Authors to present papers in their sessions.

The refereeing of these papers is under their responsibility. Session Organizers may seek outside referees or use their own judgement to accept/ not accept proposed contributions.

Each session will consist of between 4 and 6 papers (with presentations of about 30 minutes).

Session Organizers may, if they wish, schedule one longer ‘invited’ paper, typically at the beginning of their session.

2)Session Organisers are to send to the HERCMA 2005 conference secretariat no later than January 20th, 2005:

(i) the title of their Session

(ii) the name, full mailing address and title of paper of each Author in their session (indicating which is to receive correspondence in the case of multiple Authors).

(iii) it is planned to have the HERCMA 2005 Proceedings produced in ‘camera-ready’ form. Authors can find typing instructions in our web side: , with ‘camera-ready’ manuscripts due in Athens not later than May 30th, 2005, in the following address:
