Classroom Expectations:

Be Respectful of people and this space. All people should feel safe in this room—when working, when sharing ideas, when asking questions—at all times. You help create this atmosphere by holding a positive attitude, working and talking quietly, by listening to people with an open mind, and by keeping cell phones away and silent.

The MacLab is a communal space, and these machines are used by many people every day. Please save your files to your student folder (versus the desktop), take your materials with you when you leave, and be good to the computers. No food or drink please.

Be Responsible. Come to class on time, work hard and use your time wisely—I expect you will be working on your design projects for the entire hour. It takes a while to navigate in design programs, so don’t hesitate to ask questions!

Be Ready to learn new things, see inspiring work, participate in critiques, and make amazing art!

Adobe Illustrator Review

Remember the Brush Tool? Review Brush Tool and Libraries and draw a piece of fruit with ONLY lines. Your drawing should include:

-3 analygous colors

-3 different brushes (Calligraphic, Artistic,
Watercolor, Charcoal, etc.)

-3 different sized brushes

-A change in the opacity levels
somewhere

Remember the Pen Tool? Find an image of a seashell similar to this one and trace the lines with the pen tool. Make your lines a bright color, so they stand out. These should be organic, curvy lines.

Oh, hey shape and color tools! Recreate this pattern in ALL COOL colors. Then type something on top of the pattern and change the opacity, so you can see through to the pattern AND read the message.

Save your document to the class folder with your name as the title.
