West College Scotland

All these courses are for 11 weeks and are registered with SQA.

A fee may apply depending on circumstances.

Basic Introduction to Computing:

Starting to learn about computing? This is the course for you. Covers Word Processing, E-Mail and Internet Searching.

Intermediate (Next Steps) computer course:

An opportunity to learn about software packages in more depth.

Entry Requirements: Basic Computing (or relevant experience).

Intermediate 2 (Advanced) computer course:

Learn even more than Intermediate 1 and become an expert in more complex tasks. Entry requirements: Intermediate 1 or Basic Computing.

Digital Photography:

Learn how to work your digital camera and download images to your computer. Topics include basic editing, printing and presentation of new photographs, as well as how to scan and edit old photos. Learners should bring their own digital camera.

Entry Requirements: Basic computer skills required.

Community Learning Development

Basic Computing:

Universal Credit IT support, Internet and E-Mail Basics, Universal Job Match Support, Microsoft Office & Skills for Work, Social Networking e.g. Facebook.

The above course is free and is held in the Central Library on a Tuesday 10.00.am – 12.00.noon. It is also held at other locations at different times. For more information please contact CLD on (01475) 715450.

Work Club:

This course is aimed to build employability skills and support participants to build a CV, Job Search and complete applications, improve interview skills and gain an SQA qualification.

The above course is free and is held in the Central Library on a Tuesday 1.00 – 3.00.pm . It is also held at other locations at different times. For more information please contact CLD on (01475) 715450.

Reading, Writing and Numbers:

A wide range of learning opportunities are available in the library (and other locations) to help adults develop their reading, writing, numeracy and communication skills (including 1 to 1 sessions if desired).
