The New form F assessment incorporates the Stage 1 – offer to foster and Stage 2 – assessment of applicant
The Form F assessment will have a significant emotional impact on the lives of applicantsapplying to foster.
As a practitioner, you want to make well evidenced and well analysed assessments. You want to use your professional judgement to support good decision making.By the end of the seminar you should be able to:
Understand the principles and values underpinning fostering services legislation. To ensure all applicants are treated fairly and equally. To produce an evidenced based assessment which clearly differentiates between facts and opinions. To ensure that assessments provide a critical analysis of the information gathered.
Understand and comply with current fostering legislation and minimum standards. To be able to recognise acknowledge and reflect upon our possible bias. To be able to confidently recognise quality evidence gathering within the assessment process. To be able to criticially analyse the information gathered and make an evidenced based recommendation to panel.
To become professionally scepticial as to the veracity of the information provided during the assessment and to use your analysis and professional judgement to deliver well evidenced and well analysed fostering assessments and reports.
Who is this seminar for?
The seminar is suitable for social work practitioners working in the assessment arena who are making or contributing to form f assessments, as well as their supervisors or managers.

The fee for the one day seminar is £100 per delagate.
The seminar will begin at 10am and finish at 5pm. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. A certificate of continuing proffesional development will be issued upon completion.
