Smart Grid Solutions (SGS) is a global business within HBS, which supports the growing demand for energy efficiency and smart energy consumption solutions. The Technical Supervisor will manage the technical operations of the RNC program including, staff management, client/builder/rater meetings, field inspections, design reviews, savings calculation, reporting & incentive calculation, technical oversight and review, ratings QA/QC management, monitor implementation plans for EPA changes including Version 3.0, and monitor & develop implementation plans for NJ code changes.
This position reports to the Program Manger and is responsible for managing the overall technical requirements of builders and rating companies as they submit projects to the program for incentives at all phases of the project including model design, pre-drywall inspections and final certification inspection. Further, this position will develop and lead two field inspectors responsible for monitoring program requirements, rating companies, to manage client activities, operations and personnel oversight and supervision of project staff with special attention to safety training and adherence to safety policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage an operations budget, monitor performance monthly, and adjust accordingly to ensure achievement of all financial goals.
• Ensure that all activities are billed and all invoices are paid.
• Maintain productive relationships with builders, rating companies and clients through ongoing contact, attendance at meetings, trainings and participation in industry events.
• Identify opportunities for new work and translate through the regional operational and sales teams.
• Monitor all Programs to ensure Honeywell standards and clients energy efficiency objective are being met.
• Directly supervise employees and potential sub-contractors with attention to safety, production and morale.
• Provide problem resolutions when necessary for customer issues.
• Provide Program training to builders and rating companies.
• Ensure safety, quality and service standards are being practiced.
• Provide technical understanding and support in new construction methods, RESNET requirements, HERS rating processes, REMRATE review and RNC program requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
• Associates Degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Construction Management or related field OR in lieu Associates degree, 2 years of experience in Program Management / Project Management.
• RESNET Certification and 2 years of rating experience using REMRATE and ENERGY STAR data collection data
• 2 years of experience supervising direct reports
• 3 years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) in a business setting
• Valid driver's license with clear driving history
Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a professional approach
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Construction Management or related field
• Experience managing client and contractor relationships
• Ability to work well in a team environment and lead direct reports to successful outcomes by using positive reinforcement
• Experience in Construction, Utilities or HVAC industries
• Ability to work well under pressure
