At the Andesco Congress:
Companies of Grupo Energía de Bogotá receive a series of acknowledgements
- Empresa de Energía de Bogotá – EEB, headquarters to Grupo Energía de Bogotáand TGI were awarded prices on the basis of their management, specifically in the topics of Corporate Governance and best Social Performance.
- Gas Natural Fenosa, whereGrupo Energía de Bogotá holds 25% of its stock, received the Andesco Award as the best largest utility and TIC company.
- The awards were received on 28 June by Ms. Sandra Fonseca, Grupo’s CEO, at the XV Andesco Congress.
- Empresa de Energía de Cundinamarca - EEC, another affiliate company of Grupo Energía de Bogotá, was also nominated in the category of Best labor climate.
- These acknowledgements ratify the importance and effectiveness of the Global Responsibility Model implemented by the Group to ensure an adequate relation with all stakeholders.
Bogotá, 2 July 2013. During the closing ceremony of Andesco Congress 2013 held on June 28, Ms. Sandra Fonseca, CEO of Grupo Energía de Bogotá, received from Mr. Gustavo Galvis, Executive President of Andesco, awards granted to affiliate companies of the Corporation as acknowledgement for their commitment to society.
Empresa de Energía de Bogotá, was elected in the Corporate Governance category, where corporations are acknowledged on the basis of their governance, corporate ethics and transparency, while Transportadora de Gas Internacional - TGI, was elected in the category of best Social Performance.
“We are extremely happy with the awards, these would not have been possible, had we not had the decisive commitment of the Group to implement the Global Responsibility Model whereby companies strive so that their activities generate greater economic value to the business and the environment, working hand in hand with all stakeholders, monitoring their processes and reporting as per international benchmarks”, expressed Mrs. Fonseca.
Similarly, she pointed: “through this model, we generate trust with all stakeholders ensuring a drive to energy demand growth, in an efficient and responsible manner.”

Currently, the Global Responsibility model has helped Grupo Energía de Bogotá to become one of the leaders of Global Compact, and its headquarters, which equity is mainly Colombian, has positioned the company amongst the 54 corporations world-wide that are part of Global Compact Group Lead, which in turn led to the company being officially registered in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index in the category of emerging markets.
