Responsible for / Effective delivery of rugby coaching and multi sport activities to 16-19 year olds, not engaged in the rugby academy at RedruthSchool

RedruthSchool, staff and governors, community groups and voluntary sector agencies.
Cornwall Sports Partnership
National Governing Body (e.g., RFU) Development Officer

Main purpose of the job

To administer high quality coaching for 16-19 year olds at RedruthSchool, enabling individuals to develop according to their abilities and encouraging them to sustain activity levels.

To deliver core movement and rugby skills, working both in and outside core curriculum time at RedruthSchool and Redruth RFC, retaining young people in sport by working closely with academic and club staff and other sports providers.

Main duties and responsibilities

Managing delivery of curriculum and extra curriculum activity and work within RedruthSchool

Organising and providing coaching opportunities.

Liaising with Redruth school academic staff and the relevant NGB Development Officer(s) for successful implementation/delivery.

Guiding and encouraging 16-19 year olds to make appropriate decisions about further participation in sport at a level appropriate to their ability.

Identify the needs of individual groups.

Work closely with other partners to coordinate competition and festival opportunities. Initiating these where appropriate.

Providing practical assistance to young leaders, other coaches and volunteers in a mentor role.

Work with priority groups to ensure equitable access of delivery.

Work with other partners to help monitor the impact of delivery and healthy lifestyles.

Have monitoring and evaluation systems in place.

Report to the Cornwall Sports Partnership (CSP) on delivery, performance and developments.

Help forge school club links.
