Conditions for Engagement on Book a Brain between

Conditions for engagement / As a participant in Book a Brain it is understood that your time and expertise is provided gratis. Levels of commitment and your role/participation in project/issues working groups will be negotiated with the Book a Brain Advisory Group.Privacy and Confidentiality / Except as required in the course of your duties with Book a Brain or by law, you must keep all information confidential and notify the Book a Brain coordinator immediately of any suspected or actual unauthorized use, copying or disclosure of confidential information. Book a Brain participants are obligated to privacy in respect of use and security of personal information arising from their involvement in Book a Brain.
Respect / Book a Brain participants are asked to consider the diversity - differering opinions, experiences and points of view, social and cultural backgrounds - that exists in the community and to exercise respect in appreciating this rich diversity.
Tasks / Book a Brain participants will undertake a range of tasks as required by the particular project. These may include: facilitation of information sharing or planning workshops.
Induction / Book a Brain Advisory Group will provide a briefing before you commence your participation with a Book a Brain project.
Communication / It is expected that Brains will communicate directly with project applicants, with Book a Brain coordinators and Advisory Group to provide updates and identify issues. Any communication with the media should be through the Book a Brain Advisory Group.
Neutrality / The Book a Brain initiative aims at enabling individuals or groups to access the knowledge of voluntary community members to assist them in the development of responses, services or events that will be of benefit to the wider local community.
Book a Brain will endeavour to put eligible applicants in contact with volunteers (Brains) from the Book a Brain Register who have the knowledge required to assist the applicant in their project.
The Brains in the Book a Brain project will share information based on knowledge and expertise. They will not provide physical assistance.
Projects eligible for assistance must: :
- Be not-for-profit
- Be non discriminatory
- Be environmentally sustainable
- Not contravene any regulations or infringe any laws
- Be of benefit (socially, economically or environmentally) to the broader local community
Health & Safety / The Book a Brain volunteer has an obligation (duty) to undertake the tasks in ways that do not compromise their health & safety or the health and safety of others.
Withdrawal from the program / As a volunteer you are entitled to withdraw from the program at any time. Please contact the Book a Brain coordinator or Book a Brain Advisory Group members to discuss your decision and to explore future options.
