1Vision

Our vision is of a vibrant, just and inclusive society, informed and empowered through dialogue.

2Mission Statement

To engage people at all levels in open and honest dialogue that encourages better understanding.

3Strategic Aims

The strategic aims for 2009-2012 are:

1) To reinvigorate the membership base and develop an efficient and reflective learning organisation.

2) To promote and deliver dialogue processesthat embrace best practice.

3) To develop and maintain a team of dialogue practitioners.

4) To create better understanding of policy documents that affect our lives.

4Strategic Objectives

Aim 1: To reinvigorate the membership base and develop an efficient, reflective learning organisation.

Objectives

1.1To update and consolidate all databases.

1.2To recruit new members and partners groups.

1.3To communicate and engage with the members.

1.4To raise the profile of the work of the organisation.

1.5To develop spaces for reflection and learning.

Aim 2: To promote and deliver dialogue processes that embrace best practice.

Objectives

2.1To promote and deliver the ‘Dialogue on the Ground’ Project.

2.2To facilitate a series of dialogues around interface barriers.

2.3To learn from our own practice and the practice of others.

2.4To share good practice in dialogue.

2.5To explore and promote innovation in dialogue practice.

2.6To evaluate effective and inclusive dialogue and post dialogue practice

Aim 3:To develop and maintain a team of dialogue practitioners.

Objectives

3.1To recruit a panel of dialogue practitioners.

3.2To provide training for the panel of dialogue practitioners.

3.3To develop a training manual/handbook for dialogue practitioners.

3.4To provide support and team building to the panel of dialogue practitioners.

3.5To continue to research the training and support needs of practitioners.

3.6To continue to develop a range of progressive training opportunities for dialogue practitioners.

Aim 4: To create better understanding of policy documents that affect our lives.

Objectives

4.1To deliver the ‘Unravelling the Jargon’ Project.

4.2To identify key policy documents to address.

4.3To make key policy documents accessible and understandable.

4.4To explore the use of a range of different media to use to make policy documents more accessible to all.

4.5To network with a wide range of groups and organisations around policy.

4.6To develop a service for policy consultations.
